T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nagashima Hiroaki; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan") has received a total of 3.16 million yen in T Points from T Members as "Shuri Castle Reconstruction Donations."
T Point Japan accepted donations for the Shuri Castle Reconstruction Fund from November 1, 2019 (Friday) to June 30, 2020 (Tuesday) through the T Point Donation Service, which allows users to donate as little as one T Point, with the aim of helping with the reconstruction of Shuri Castle, which is cherished by the people of Okinawa Prefecture, where T Cards are used the most among the 47 prefectures. We received 11,504 donations from T members, donating a total of 3,133,166 yen in T points. 95% of the T members who supported us live outside the prefecture, such as in Tokyo or Osaka, and they donated T points from all over Japan towards the reconstruction of Shuri Castle.
Additionally, in cooperation with Kanehide Shoji Co., Ltd., which operates the food supermarket "Town Plaza Kanehide," and the Okinawa branch of Kirin Brewery Co., Ltd., we conducted the "Kanehide x Kirin Beer Cheers to a Bright and Cheerful Home! Campaign!" from Monday, May 11th to Thursday, June 25th, 2020, and donated a total of 31,500 yen worth of T Points to the "Shuri Castle Reconstruction Fund" through T Point donations.
As a result, we donated a total of 3,164,666 yen in T-Points to the Okinawa Prefectural Government. The presentation ceremony was originally scheduled to be held at the Okinawa Prefectural Government Office in August, but was postponed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Instead, we received a comment from Okinawa Governor Denny Tamaki.
