-The interior design features a long table surrounded by bookshelves that reach all the way to the ceiling, and a space design that CCC calls "little book rooms," a series of small rooms surrounded by bookshelves.
The interior design of Tsutaya Bookstore, which was applied for by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as CCC), became the first to be registered under the revised Design Act that came into effect on April 1, 2020, allowing for the recognition of interior designs.
The designs registered this time are an interior design with a long table surrounded by bookshelves that reach all the way to the ceiling, and a design for a space that CCC calls "book rooms," a series of small rooms surrounded by bookshelves.
CCC, led by Daikanyama T-Site, which opened in 2011, strives to create "comfortable spaces" that demonstrate "what retail should be like in the internet age."We have made every effort to incorporate into the spatial design the indefinable feeling of "comfort" that can only be experienced in a real space.
The recent revision of the Design Act has created a system to protect "interior designs," and we are confident that the fact that multiple businesses, including CCC, who want to protect their distinctive interior designs, have registered will lead to the future development of spatial design.
With this latest registration, CCC will continue to strive to create internationally competitive spatial designs that will lead to growth.
