TSUTAYA BOOKS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TSUTAYA) will be accepting votes for the Mainichi Film Contest's "TSUTAYA Premium Movie Fan Awards 2020" from Friday, November 13th, 2020 to Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020, in which movie fans will choose the film they found most "moving" and "interesting" from among the films released in Japan in 2020 to determine the No. 1.

The TSUTAYA Premium Movie Fan Awards 2020 is the only award decided by public vote within the Mainichi Film Awards, a prestigious and historic organization in the Japanese film industry, and will determine and award the No. 1 Japanese film and the No. 1 foreign film.
Additionally, 10 pairs of 20 people will be randomly selected from those who vote through the "TSUTAYA Premium Movie Fan Awards 2020" application form to receive an invitation to the Mainichi Film Awards award ceremony.

TSUTAYA aims to communicate the voices of movie-loving fans to filmmakers and to suggest works that will allow customers to discover great films.

(1) Stores: Unlimited rental of older DVDs/Blu-rays at TSUTAYA stores, excluding new and recent releases.

*There is a limit to the number of items that can be rented at the same time.

(2) Online: Unlimited viewing of approximately 10,000 titles from the video streaming service "TSUTAYA TV," excluding new and recent releases!
・Other: No return deadline. There is no extension fee. In addition, rental renewal fees will be waived.

・ Campaign period: From midnight on Friday, November 13, 2020 to 11:59 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020
・Voting method:
(1) Access the special website from your PC or smartphone, fill out the required information, and then enter the title of the 2020 film that you found most moving or interesting in the submission form.
(2) Follow the official TSUTAYA Twitter account (@shop_TSUTAYA) and post your film using the hashtags "#MainichiFilmAwards2020" and "#JapaneseFilms" and "#ForeignFilms" respectively, clearly stating the title of the film (private accounts are invalid).
・Eligibility requirements: None
・Voting categories: "Japanese Film Category" / "Foreign Film Category"
Eligible films: Films released in Japan for at least 14 days between January 1st and December 31st, 2020, with a paid theatrical release date.
・Results announced: Late January 2021

Prize: 20 tickets to the "Mainichi Film Awards 2020" (10 pairs, 20 winners)

・Winner announcement: Winners will be notified when an invitation ticket is sent to them.
