A-Co-op East Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Nobuo Oda; hereinafter referred to as "A-Co-op East Japan"), a JA Zennoh Group company that operates food supermarkets and other businesses in the Kanto and Tohoku areas, and T Money Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Kitamura) are pleased to announce that they have begun introducing the electronic money "T Money" at 33 of A-Co-op East Japan's food supermarkets in the Kanto area from Thursday, May 13, 2021.
The JA Zennoh Group has launched the T Point service at A-Co-op Kinki stores since July 2019 and at A-Co-op Kanto stores since April 2020. With the introduction of the T Point service, we are now using the T Point database to improve our store operations, including product lineups and sales floor layouts, and by working on new CRM (Customer Relationship Management), we are providing our customers with a more enjoyable and convenient shopping experience.
With this initiative, A-Co-op East Japan's 33 food supermarkets in the Kanto area (Kanagawa, Gunma, Saitama, Tokyo) will be able to accept electronic money "T Money" in addition to the T Point service that was launched last year. A-Co-op East Japan is the second JA Zennoh Group company to introduce electronic money, following A-Co-op Kinki, and is the first to use "T Money."
"T Money" is an electronic money service that can be used by loading cash onto a T Card/Mobile T Card. When you pay with "T Money" when shopping, you earn T Points, which can then be used for shopping or to charge your "T Money."As the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the spread of "new lifestyles" and a truly walletless society, simply presenting your Mobile T-Card once at checkout will enable contactless and speedy shopping services.
To commemorate the introduction of "T Money," starting Thursday, May 13, 2021, we will be holding the "T Money Charge Campaign!!," where if you charge cash to your T Card/Mobile T Card and make a purchase, you will receive up to 300 T Points depending on the amount charged.
A-Co-op East Japan and T-Money will continue to strive to create new value that leads to safe, secure, convenient and enjoyable daily shopping in order to improve customer satisfaction at their stores.
