- "Currently sleeping on the island. Don't wake me. "Ogasawara, an island that moves the heart. Ogasawara is an island where you must not move now. We received 266 ideas over the two days, including:
CCC Marketing Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Kitamura) and the Tokyo Islands Tourism Federation and Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo), a general incorporated association that disseminates information about the Ogasawara Islands, a World Heritage Site, and attracts tourists, are working on a co-education project called "Ogasawa Lab," in which residents and islanders come together to "develop the island, its people, and its future together."Ogasawara Village has designated the two weeks from Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 to Monday, September 6th, 2021 as the "Village Coronavirus Elimination Period," and is urgently soliciting catchphrases to communicate Ogasawara Village's unique state of emergency declaration through "Ogasawa Lab."We are pleased to announce that five catchphrases have been selected from these and will be displayed as digital posters on the liner ferry, Ogasawara-Maru.
CCC Marketing and the Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau launched the "Ogasawa Lab" project in April 2021 with the aim of realizing a new form of regional coexistence. Utilizing the co-creation community site "Blabo!", where over 27,000 consumers participate as planners in solving problems for companies and government agencies, the project is seeking ideas such as "ideas for enjoying rainy days while traveling" and "ideas for making the 24-hour boat trip more enjoyable," and is currently working on planning to turn these ideas into reality.
Details of the project starting in April are here: https://note.com/ccc_planningnote/n/n788c724dfebc
In response to the increase in coronavirus infections within the village, Ogasawara Village has issued its own state of emergency declaration, designating the two weeks from August 24 to September 6, 2021 as the "Village Coronavirus Elimination Period."In order to help more people participate in the "Village Coronavirus Elimination Period," which aims to restore peace of mind to the islanders' lives and make the island a place where tourists can visit with peace of mind, Blabo! has launched an urgent call for submissions for "catchphrases (30 characters or less) that will make both islanders and tourists want to reduce travel between the Ogasawara Islands and the mainland."As a result, despite the short two-day period from August 21st to 22nd, we received a total of 266 ideas.
A total of 12 ideas (5 from Blabo! members, 4 from ambassadors, and 3 from islanders) were selected from the submitted ideas, along with those solicited by the Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau from Ogasawara Ambassadors and island residents. These ideas have been displayed since August 24th on digital signage aboard the Ogasawara Maru, a regular ferry that runs between the mainland and the Ogasawara Islands. This catchphrase will also be used in other public relations activities in the future.
■Comment from Deputy Mayor Masaaki Shibuya (Acting Mayor of Ogasawara Village)
We understand that those boarding the ship during the cleanup period will be doing so for a variety of reasons, and we believe that thorough infection prevention measures will be taken both on board and after arrival, but we believe that seeing this signage will reinforce that resolve.
■Comment from Yasuhiro Negishi, Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau
As Ogasawara Village issues its own state of emergency declaration, we have been thinking about ways to gain the understanding and cooperation of as many people as possible. Then, I came up with the idea of expanding this project into Blabo!, which is helping us with our Co-education Project. The recruitment period was an unprecedentedly short two days, so we inquired about it without much hope, but we got the go-ahead to our surprise. We had a whirlwind time together after that, but it was worth it as we received 266 fantastic ideas. Once again, I am amazed at the drive and teamwork of these ambitious people, and I am filled with gratitude. And through "Blabo!", we hope to continue to make as many of the things that people wish were "like this in Ogasawara" a reality.
■ Co-education project "Ogasawa Lab"
Ogasawara Lab, a joint project between the Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau and CCC Marketing, aims to transform Ogasawara, a World Natural Heritage site that Japan is proud of, from a place that needs to be protected to a community where new things are born and nurtured. This is a co-education project based on the concept of "growing the island, nurturing its people, and nurturing the future" where residents, islanders, and ambassadors come together to "growing the island, nurturing its people, and nurturing the future."We plan to take advantage of the assets of the Culture Convenience Club (CCC) Group, which excels in lifestyle proposals, including "Blabo!", to carry out this initiative.
CCC Marketing's group mission is "UNIQUE DATA, SMALL HAPPY." We create value from a wide variety of data using technology and ideas, connecting individual lifestyles with the society around them and bringing small moments of happiness to each and every person every day. By refining unique data into valuable information and working together to address various social issues, we aim to create a better, more sustainable society.
The Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau was established within the Tokyo Islands Tourism Federation on the mainland with funding from Ogasawara Village, with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of tourism in Ogasawara through media relations, event planning, etc., while maintaining existing ties with travel agencies. We will utilize the mobility of being located on the mainland to carry out sales and PR activities for Ogasawara.
■ Co-creation community site "Blabo!"
Blabo! is a co-creation community site where over 27,000 consumers participate as planners in solving problems for companies and government agencies, and aims to derive insights from the "true feelings of consumers."The information that companies want to know is presented as "questions" that consumers can easily answer. You can collect consumer feedback through websites and apps. It was just like an online planning meeting. Through a free and open exchange of opinions, we extract insights from consumers and accompany them in creating products, ideas and concepts that are truly needed by the world.
