SBI Neo Mobile Securities Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ogawa Hiroyuki; hereinafter referred to as "SBI Neo Mobile Securities") and CCC Marketing Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kitamura Kazuhiko; hereinafter referred to as "CCC Marketing") are pleased to announce that they have conducted an "Investment Survey" among 1,001 users of "NeoMoba," an asset management service for smartphones operated by SBI Neo Mobile Securities that allows the use of T Points, through the "T Survey," an online attitude survey operated by CCC Marketing.

・With the spread of COVID-19, 60% of people said their willingness to invest has "increased," while 40% said it has "remained the same."
The reason for the increased motivation is the "economic anxiety" caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
・More than 50% of "NeoMoba" users responded that they had actually "made a profit"
・When people start investing, they also experience lifestyle changes such as increased interest in economic trends and a greater awareness of saving.

Half of respondents said spending is "negative" compared to before COVID-19 and that the economy will "get worse" in the future.
The novel coronavirus infection continues to spread, and the situation remains unpredictable. As we live in uncertainty with no end in sight, CCC Marketing conducted a survey in July titled "Survey on Revenge ConsumptionWhen asked, "Has there been any change in the way you spend money compared to before COVID-19?" 46.9% of people answered "No change," and 42.2% answered "I no longer spend money."When asked about "future consumption trends," 51.0% answered "no change," while 25.8% answered "decline." Furthermore, when asked about "Japan's economy in the future," 45.4% answered "it will get worse." This suggests that current consumer sentiment is such that people have no hope for an economic recovery and are tightening their purse strings.

■On the other hand, 60% of people said that their willingness to invest has "increased" due to the coronavirus pandemic. The reason is "I want to ease my financial worries"
In the "Investment Survey" conducted this time, when asked about "changes in investment appetite due to the spread of COVID-19," 59.4% of respondents answered that their "investment appetite has increased significantly" or "somewhat increased," while 38.7% answered that their "investment appetite has remained unchanged," and only 1.9% answered that their "investment appetite has decreased slightly" or "very much decreased."(Rounded to the second decimal place)

In addition, when we asked the 595 people who answered that their desire to invest had increased why, many of them answered that they were anxious about the future, with answers such as, "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I've been spending more time at home and I've become anxious about my life plans and the assets I need," "I've become anxious about the future and have become more conscious of asset management," and "I'm not comfortable just saving my money, so I wanted to manage it effectively."The increased willingness to invest reflects a desire to use investment to ease the economic anxiety caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Looking at the results by generation, people in their 20s tend to be relatively more interested in investing as a way to spend their current money and time, citing reasons such as "social expenses have decreased, leaving us with surplus funds" and "we are spending more time at home."Those in their 30s to 50s are highly conscious of preparing for financial worries, such as "just in case of an emergency," while those in their 60s tend to be more willing to invest in order to obtain the funds necessary for a comfortable life in retirement, citing reasons such as "for future funds" and "because I now have time."

■More than 50% of people made a profit with NeoMoba. Investment also increases interest in economic trends and a sense of saving.

Furthermore, when asked about "changes in awareness and lifestyle since starting to invest," respondents said things like, "I've started reading newspapers and the news more often," "I've started paying more attention to corporate activities," and "I've become interested in domestic and international politics and economics," indicating that they have developed the habit of gathering information about world events and news on a regular basis. Some people said, "I wanted to learn more about money, so I started studying to become a financial planner."
In addition, starting to invest has made people more sensitive to their spending, with some saying things like, "When I go shopping, I start to think about whether I really need to buy something, and I've become more frugal," and "When I spend money, I start to convert it into the value of one NeoMoba share before making my decision."Investing not only brings financial benefits, but also seems to have the effect of bringing about positive changes in daily lifestyle.
