-First step: Earn T Points with the LOCCO delivery service starting October 1st!-
Seino Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture; President and CEO: Yoshitaka Taguchi; hereinafter referred to as "Seino HD") and T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Kitamura; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan") have agreed to promote last-mile initiatives using "T Points" with the aim of contributing to regional revitalization and solving local issues. As the first step, starting Friday, October 1, 2021, the T-Point service will be launched for the delivery service provided by LOCCO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hideharu Kawai; hereinafter referred to as "LOCCO"), a subsidiary of Seino Holdings.
Seino Holdings, which has set the slogan "Connecting our values - everything for the prosperity of our customers" in its medium-term management policy for the fiscal year ending March 2020, places importance on building an open public platform (hereinafter referred to as O.P.P.) that contributes to the environment, industry, and lifestyles as social infrastructure, and leads to improved efficiency and quality. The group's overall strategy is to realize a smart supply chain by optimizing, automating, and unmanning production, inventory, and delivery through digital transformation (DX) of logistics. In the last-mile area, the company is responding to changes in lifestyles and structural changes, and is actively promoting and expanding the building of last-mile O.P.P.s that solve social issues such as measures to address the shopping disadvantage of people and poverty-stricken families.
T Point Japan positions the T Card as a common ID that spans various industries, and has evolved to include features such as T Points, T Money, use at public facilities and on public transportation, collaborations with characters and artists, and features that lead to support and encouragement. Today, the T Card is used daily by 70 million people across Japan. In addition, by utilizing the 70 million T members, 5,500 T Point Alliance companies, and approximately 5 billion purchase data points provided by the T Card, we are implementing initiatives that lead to solving social issues facing local communities and promoting regional coexistence, aiming to create new value as "T, which connects people and society."
Now that the two companies share a common goal of resolving regional issues and contributing to the local community, they will advance discussions toward the following initiatives and utilize T Points to revitalize various regions of Japan and solve their problems.
1. In collaboration with LOCCO Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Seino Holdings, T Points will be awarded to customers who use the "Delivery to Door" service and complete the T Points application procedure as a way to encourage "Delivery to Door" as a solution to social issues related to delivery.
2. Together with Seino Holdings subsidiary LOCCO Co., Ltd., we have introduced a "Gig Worker System" to support diverse working styles and provide T-Points as a reward to gig workers.
3. Together with Seino Holdings subsidiary Coconet Co., Ltd., we will utilize T-Points to support those who are unable to shop in the last mile area.
As the first step in the collaboration between Seino Holdings and T Point Japan, the T Point service will be launched with the delivery service provided by LOCCO. Customers who use T Points can earn 10 T Points for each delivery when they shop on eligible e-commerce sites that have introduced LOCCO's drop-off service (500 companies have already implemented it) and select "drop-off" as the delivery method to receive their products. Accumulated T Points can be used at T Point affiliated stores nationwide and at online services, with 1 point equaling 1 yen.
Through this initiative, we will offer "drop-off delivery" to 70 million T members nationwide as an option that will reduce redelivery, which has become a social issue, and also reduce the burden on delivery staff. Going forward, we will further promote "drop-off delivery" by expanding the introduction of the LOCCO drop-off delivery service to various e-commerce sites.
Seino Holdings and T Point Japan will utilize the characteristics of "T Points," which are rooted in every region of Japan and used by many people, to contribute to solving local social issues such as population decline, transportation problems in specific depopulated areas, and measures to address logistics weaknesses, while also working towards a more prosperous society for the next generation.
