Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. was established in 2016 with the slogan "TSUTAYA will change the way you encounter books. "TSUTAYA Bunko" is a series of books produced by TSUTAYA bookstore staff under the concept of "thinking of you in the season of fallen cherry blossoms," in which they produce works that TSUTAYA bookstore staff can confidently recommend as truly interesting and that they would like customers to pick up. As the 200th title in the series, "TSUTAYA Bunko" has begun selling "Thinking of You in the Season of Fallen Cherry Blossoms."

"TSUTAYA Bunko" produces works through three types of projects: "Pre-release Production," which selects works from previously published works; "New Release Production," which unearths works that have not yet been released; and "Re-release Production," which re-publishes works that are already out of print. The total number of copies sold has finally exceeded 5 million.

Since the 100th work was released in March 2020, with a total circulation exceeding 3 million copies, we have continued to discover many works and receive support from many customers, including the hit "One-Eyed Girl" (author: Maya Yutaka/publisher: Bungeishunju), which has been reprinted 45,000 times, and "Writer Detective Busujima" (author: Nakayama Shichiri/publisher: Gentosha), which has been a hit in the "TSUTAYA Bunko" series and will have a sequel paperback edition released in October 2022.

The commemorative 200th work produced is "Thinking of You in the Season of Fallen Cherry Blossoms" (author: Utano Shogo/publisher: Bungeishunju), a monumental masterpiece that heralded a new era for the classic mystery genre, released in 2007 and awarded both the Mystery Writers of Japan Award and the Honkaku Mystery Grand Prize, as well as taking first place in "This Mystery is Amazing!" and the Honkaku Mystery Best 10. The new look, inspired by cherry blossoms at night, expresses the transience and beauty of this work.

Due to the desire of bookstore staff to "recommend this book," many bookstores have been running elaborate recommendation campaigns for a long time since the book was first released, and this work has become a beloved work by many readers, which is exactly what "TSUTAYA Bunko" wants to achieve by "creating opportunities for people to encounter wonderful novels right from the storefront."" "We want to develop many of our works into hits. This work embodies the project's theme:

"I want to bring this work, which should be loved for generations, to new readers," he said. "We want to boost the entire bookstore industry by reaching many readers through stores. With this in mind, we have selected "Thinking of You in the Season of Fallen Cherry Blossoms" as the 200th work in the commemorative "TSUTAYA Bunko" series.

Going forward, through TSUTAYA Bunko, TSUTAYA will continue to strengthen its efforts to have its booksellers, who are closest to customers every day, plan, discover, and produce works that they are confident in delivering to a wide range of customers.
