The original story by Ishisei Inko and manga by Noah, "Return by Death All-Rounder: Becoming the Strongest after Expelling the Hero Party 100 Times," won the Grand Prize in the "Comic Adaptation Original Category" of the first "Next Generation Writers Literary Award," co-sponsored by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. and indent Inc., which provides the writing tool "Nola" that supports the creation of structured stories. The series will begin serialization in the digital comic magazine "Comic Earth Star," operated by Earth Star Entertainment Co., Ltd., from April 28th.

The Next Generation Writers Literary Award is an unprecedented literary award co-sponsored by TSUTAYA and Nola with the aim of "supporting the next generation of writers who will lead the book and manga industry in the future" and "providing comprehensive support for writers, from their writing environment to nationwide sales."

We are currently accepting entries for the 2nd Next Generation Writer Literary Award, and the winner will be announced on a certain day in September after a rigorous screening process, so please keep an eye out. The winning works will be published as books and displayed in prime locations in the book and comic section of TSUTAYA stores nationwide.

What is the Next Generation Writers Literary Award?

This is a new open literary award established in 2021, co-sponsored by TSUTAYA and Nola, with the aim of supporting the next generation of authors who will lead the book and manga industry in the future.

The second Next Generation Writers Literary Award will be co-hosted by Tokuma Shoten and Earth Star Entertainment, both of which are part of the TSUTAYA group, as well as monogatary.com, operated by Sony Music Entertainment. There will be categories with different themes and genres for each publisher: "General Entertainment Novel Category," "Light Novel Literature Category," and "Comic Adaptation Original Category." The Grand Prize winners for each category will be selected by employees of the publishers, the Nola editorial department, and co-sponsoring companies. Entries will be accepted from Wednesday, January 12th to Sunday, May 1st, 2022, and the grand prize winner will be announced on a certain date in September 2022.

Through this award and future initiatives, TSUTAYA and indent will fully support the authors of the next generation who love books, manga, and writing, based on the philosophy of "creators first," and will aim to create entertainment works that will be enjoyed by a wide range of generations.
