Overview of the initiative

This initiative promotes "local production and consumption of local energy" as a promotion project based on the "Agreement on Comprehensive Regional Cooperation" concluded between Tsuruga City and Hokuriku Electric Power Company in June 2021.
Specifically, Hokuriku Electric Power will purchase surplus electricity from residents of Tsuruga City who support this initiative and have post-FIT electricity, and supply it to public facilities and other facilities in Tsuruga City.
Furthermore, in a first of its kind initiative in the country, we will also collaborate with CCCMK, which aims to increase the value of the region and its residents and create a richer lifestyle through data such as T-Card*1 data, to analyze and demonstrate data aimed at realizing smart areas in Tsuruga City in the future.
This will be done by utilizing data on surplus electricity from post-FIT electricity sources and data on consumption behavior obtained from T-Cards, and will lead to proposals for optimal electricity usage methods that suit each citizen's lifestyle, as well as consideration of creating an electricity system that leads to a sustainable society.
Please note that this initiative requires customers to agree to link their surplus electricity data with their T-Card purchasing data. Customers who cooperate will receive three T-Points*2 from Tsuruga City for every kWh of surplus electricity they generate each month.

Going forward, Tsuruga City, CCCMK, and Hokuriku Electric Power will continue to work towards realizing a zero-carbon city and smart areas by 2050 through the expansion of this initiative.
