Fukuoka City aims to become a city of colorful art, and is working to increase opportunities for people to come into contact with art in their daily lives and to support the growth of artists through the "Fukuoka Art Next" initiative. https://www.city.fukuoka.lg.jp/keizai/art/shisei/FukuokaArtNext/FukuokaArtNext.htmlBy promoting this initiative, the city aims to create a virtuous cycle of urban growth and improved quality of life through the power of art, and to become a leading Asian city where people, the environment, and urban vitality are in harmony.
"Fukuoka Art Next" has two business pillars: "living with art" and "art startups." It aims to improve the well-being of citizens through art and increase the number of Fukuoka-based artists who are active on the world stage. In particular, "Artist Cafe Fukuoka" will serve as a hub connecting the city, people, and art.

Overview of "Artist Cafe Fukuoka"

"Artist Cafe Fukuoka" provides support for artists starting up their businesses (consultations, matching, event hosting, etc.) and also offers artist-in-residence programs (https://faam.city.fukuoka.lg.jp/residence/) and functions as a gallery. The goal is to enable artists to expand their activities, to create an environment in which it is easy for artists to start their careers, and to provide spaces and experiences that make art a part of everyday life for citizens. Therefore, we will offer four services: 1) consultation, 2) events, 3) matching, and 4) sales promotion. By doing so, we will provide a path that leads to the growth and development of artists and the development of new markets, discover and nurture Fukuoka-based artists, and broaden the base of citizens interested in art, thereby contributing to the "growth of the city" through art as CCC.

Four services at "Artist Cafe Fukuoka"

[1] Consultation
A coordinator will be on-site to understand the overall picture of the consultation content during the initial consultation. After that, we will create a system that will help the client clarify their future actions and options by connecting them with various specialist advisors, such as artists who can provide advice based on their experience, or advisors specializing in starting a business or branding, as a secondary consultation point. We will also create a space where citizens can easily consult and interact with each other.

Additionally, the interaction space and gallery space of "Artist Cafe Fukuoka" will be equipped with furniture preserved by Kyushu University (Note 1), allowing visitors to appreciate artworks and read art books in a culturally charged space. We also offer art supplies and other items, providing a comfortable space where anyone can experience art, interact freely, and be inspired to create.

*Note 1 [Unofficially preserved furniture] This is a new way of preserving historical fixtures, where they are loaned out to individuals, businesses, etc. and used for preservation.

[2] Events
Utilizing the community space, we will hold events aimed at disseminating information so that artists can come into contact with the latest information on the art industry, as well as networking events with galleries and curators, and talk events where artists can hear about their experiences. We will provide content that will help artists grow and lead to proactive action.

[3] Matching
For artists looking to grow, we provide networking opportunities through events and workshops, focusing on the themes of "people and networks," "experience and learning," and "sales promotion and market development."We also create a database of the clients' works and post it on our website, providing information about the artists and works when companies consider exhibiting or purchasing art, and promoting matching. Furthermore, we will effectively promote sales by utilizing CCC Group assets such as bookstores and designated management art museums, and by providing support through crowdfunding.

[4] Sales promotion
In addition to building an artist database through [1] to [3] and promoting sales by utilizing the assets of the CCC Group, we will also exhibit and sell works in Fukuoka's leading cafes (11 stores), thereby expanding sales channels for artists and providing a place for citizens who use cafes and bookstores to integrate art into their daily lives and enrich their souls by appreciating and experiencing art.
