CCCMK Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takahashi Yoshinori) is working on the "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab," a co-creation platform that utilizes T Card data and assets to engage in dialogue with various stakeholders across industries, primarily consumers, to think about and take action on ethical food actions that will lead to the global issue of "sustainable food."

To celebrate World Food Day, established by the United Nations as a day to think about global food issues, which will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, T-Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab will be holding the first ethical food select shop, "Hello, Ethical! - Think about the Earth through your shopping," which will offer a selection of ethical coffee and chocolate that meet the "Ethical Food Standards," the first of their kind in Japan, at Daikanyama T-Site (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) for one month from Sunday, October 16 to Tuesday, November 15.

The Ethical Food Standards are one of the standards created to ensure that companies and products are ethically mindful of the environment, animals, people and society, and politics. Currently, there is no clear definition or standard for ethical food, making it difficult for consumers to know which foods are ethical. Ethical foods can also be found in the foods that consumers purchase at their regular stores, and to inform consumers of which foods are ethical, the "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" created the "Ethical Food Standards (Large Company Version)" in March 2022 and the "Ethical Food Standards (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Version)" in September 2022.

This new shop will not only pursue deliciousness, but also undertake ethical initiatives, selling a total of 39 products, including 18 coffee products and 21 chocolate products that meet the "Ethical Food Standards."Coffee and chocolate, which add color to our daily lives, are made from the raw materials cocoa and coffee beans that are commonly produced in developing countries, where unfair, low-wage labor exploitation and child labor are common. Furthermore, there is also the reality that deforestation to expand farmland and the extensive use of pesticides are placing a strain on the environment. Ethical initiatives such as "fair trade," "support for producers," "organic farming," and "forest conservation" have been considered to improve this situation.

The sales floor will also display how each product meets the "Ethical Food Standards," as well as how participating companies are addressing social issues. Through this initiative, "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" hopes that customers will become aware of the existence of ethical food and the social issues behind it, and that by incorporating even a little bit of ethical food into their daily lives, ethical food action will be promoted in society.

CCCMK Holdings will work with all stakeholders involved in food, including consumers, manufacturers, and distributors, to help ethical food become more widespread in society, and each and every activity of the "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" will contribute to creating a food cycle that will connect to the future.
