Sustainable car life event "KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING" will supply all electricity used at the event venue from EVs

- Hyundai's "IONIQ 5" and other EVs provide power for the event, making it an environmentally friendly event -

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") and Hyundai Mobility Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Lee Jeong-wook; hereinafter referred to as "Hyundai") have decided that for two days only, from Saturday, October 29th to Sunday, October 30th, 2022, at the sustainable car life event "KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING" (Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza), hosted by the Karuizawa Motor Gathering Executive Committee, all electricity used at the event venue will be supplied by EVs, including the Hyundai "IONIQ 5."

This event will bring together popular electric vehicles (EVs), heritage cars, and camper vans under the theme of "Play - Learn - Let's get started! Sustainable car life."

The EVs that will supply power are two Hyundai IONIQ 5s, one Toyota bZ4X, and one Honda e. Each EV will be connected to a Honda Power Exporter 9000 and a Nichicon Power Mover Lite power supply, which will provide the total electricity consumption of approximately 300kWh over the two days.

Through this initiative, attendees of the event will be able to experience the benefits of EVs, such as their environmentally friendly nature (zero CO2 emissions while driving) and their ability to store electricity for use in times of power shortages or disasters. This will provide an opportunity for people to think about a sustainable society that will lead to the future, something that is unique to a sustainable car life event.

Additionally, on the 29th (Sat), a press lunch meeting will be held from 2pm to introduce the appeal of "&e (Andy)," a new automobile insurance product offered by Edesign Insurance Co., Ltd. "&e (Andy)" is an automobile insurance that provides customers with an unprecedented experience by utilizing the latest technology, such as connecting IoT to smartphones, to provide support for each individual customer and reduce the number of customers involved in accidents.

At this event, Hyundai will exhibit the EV "IONIQ 5" and FCV "NEXO", and will also be offering test drives of the EV "IONIQ 5". Don't miss this opportunity to experience Hyundai's sustainable mobility lifestyle that connects to the future.
