Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda), as the Movie Impressions Drawing Contest Executive Committee, will begin accepting entries for its 8th annual Movie Impressions Drawing Contest on Tuesday, November 1st, with the aim of cultivating children's imagination and expressiveness through movies and realizing a society that nurtures the heart.

The "Movie Impressions Drawing Contest" is a contest in which participants draw a memorable scene from their favorite movie and submit it. This contest, which began in the Chugoku-Shikoku area in 2015, expanded nationwide in 2020 and is now in its eighth year.

This year, TSUTAYA stores nationwide (some stores excluded) will once again set up a special corner displaying recommended works for the impression drawing, and will also display and distribute flyers to liven up the contest.

To apply, you can send your work by mail, bring it directly to a TSUTAYA store (Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa area <*some exclusions>, and other directly managed stores nationwide), or you can apply online.

Also, starting this time, the deadline for applications must be postmarked on a weekday, so you can apply with plenty of time to spare.

The prize for the winner will be a Quo Card Pay, which will turn your drawing into an original card face on your smartphone. (※Only works licensed by the manufacturer are eligible).

In addition, a follow and retweet campaign is currently being held on the official Twitter account (November 1, 2022 - January 18, 2023). Follow the official account (@eigakansouga) and retweet the campaign tweet to win 10,000 T-Points. One lucky winner will be chosen at random.

The "Movie Impressions Drawing Contest" provides an opportunity for children to watch movies and draw pictures of their impressions, thereby fostering rich sensitivity and expressiveness, and offering a way for parents and children to bond through movie impressions drawings.

Through our efforts, we will not only reach out to children, but also to people of all ages, to offer them the opportunity to encounter films that will enrich their lives.

Movie Impression Drawing Contest 2022 Overview

■ Application period: November 1, 2022 (Tuesday) to January 18, 2023 (Wednesday) postmark valid
■ Eligibility: Age restrictions apply depending on the category (see below for application categories)
■ Application format:
・Dimensions: Draw on drawing paper that is about the size of a quarter or eighth sheet of paper.
・Paper...Construction paper, Kent paper, canvas board, Manila paper, or cardboard are all acceptable.
・Art materials...crayons, pastels, watercolors, oil paints, etc. Prints, collages, and digital drawings are also acceptable.
*Please feel free to choose your own film. Please be sure to attach your review and individual application form to the back of each individual work.

■ Recruitment categories: "Preschoolers Division," "Lower Elementary School Division (1st to 3rd grade)," "Upper Elementary School Division (4th to 6th grade)"
"Junior High School Division," "General Division," and "Group Division"

■ Awards:
・Category Awards...Grand Prize: 1 person in each category, Excellence Prize: 10 people in each category [Prizes] Certificate of commendation, original Quo Card Pay (Grand Prize: 20,000 yen, Excellence Prize: 3,000 yen)

・Review: 400 words or less about what you felt or learned from watching the movie, and what you came up with when illustrating it. Any paper is acceptable.
