Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as CCC) will announce the 2022 annual rankings for video, music, and comic rentals, as well as the annual rankings for book, video, music, and game sales, based on data from TSUTAYA users. TSUTAYA 2022 Annual Ranking
In the book category, due to the influence of major changes in the global situation and economic trends, attention was focused on books about money, with "How to Make More Money Jason's Way" coming in first place. As with last year, the top spots for comics were dominated by hit film adaptations, with "Jujutsu Kaisen" taking the top spot.
Snow Man ranked first in both DVD/Blu-ray and CD sales, demonstrating their success in 2022. Additionally, Johnny's works dominated the top spots, with popular artists such as Naniwa Danshi, King & Prince, and SixTONES, and the much talked about film "Top Gun: Maverick," which has grossed over 13 billion yen, also ranked fifth.
In terms of games, Nintendo Switch titles continued to dominate the top rankings, as they did last year, with "Splatoon 3," which has gained support from a wide range of age groups from children to adults, coming in first place.

In the video category, Japanese films occupied the top five spots, with "Masquerade Night," the sequel to "Masquerade Hotel," a film adaptation of Keigo Higashino's best-selling novel starring Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa, taking the top spot. In addition, "Drive My Car (International Edition)," which won the Best Picture award at the Japan Academy Awards and was nominated for four categories at the 94th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, the first time a Japanese film had been nominated for this award, and won the Best International Feature Film award, the first time a Japanese film had won this award in 13 years, came in third place.
In music, YOASOBI's second EP (Extended Play) came in at number one, marking their second consecutive year at the top following their first EP last year, demonstrating their enduring popularity. Additionally, the top three singles were theme songs for anime series that became social phenomena: "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," "Jujutsu Kaisen," and "SPY×FAMILY," making this a year in which the influence of popular works was strong.
In comic rentals, "SPY×FAMILY," which was broadcast as an anime this year and became a huge hit, took first place.
