- The first "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE" in Guangdong Province -
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki, hereinafter referred to as "CCC") and its subsidiary, Tsutaya Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., have signed a franchise agreement with Shenzhen Zhongsu Cultural Creative Industries Co., Ltd. and opened the first "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE" in Guangdong Province, "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shenzhen Zhongsu Bay Store," on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
The TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shenzhen Zhongsuwan store will be located on the second basement floor of Zhongsuwan C Future City, a new commercial facility being built in Futian District, a popular gathering place for young people in Shenzhen. Nakasuwan C Future City is a commercial facility based on the concept of "ART, NATURE, TECHNOLOGY" that creates a new lifestyle experience space in Shenzhen.
Among these, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shenzhen Zhongsuwan is a BOOK & CAFE surrounded by plants and art, offering a comfortable and relaxing space. We will be exhibiting a wide range of art works, and will also be holding art-related events and exhibitions, proposing a "lifestyle with art."
Going forward, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE will continue to stimulate the creativity of customers in Japan and China, offering new reading styles and exciting experiences, with the aim of becoming a special place loved by many.

1 : Patrick BlancとteamLabによる作品を眺めながら楽しめるBOOK & CAFE
The concept of "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shenzhen Zhongsuwan Store" is "Future Inspiration."A large piece of art created jointly by Patrick Blanc and teamLab has been installed on the large staircase outside the store that leads from the first floor of the facility to the store, and customers can enjoy a relaxing time admiring the piece inside the store.
At the entrance to the store, you will be greeted by a floral art display in delicate and vibrant colors dancing inside an iconic cylindrical showcase, creating a space that symbolizes the ART + NATURE of Nakasu Bay C Future City.
The store has approximately 45,000 books, mainly humanities and literary books, 62,000 stationery and miscellaneous goods, and a cafe with approximately 90 seats. You can also enjoy a variety of drinks, including not only coffee but also tea lattes, along with books and magazines.
In the "BOOK & CAFE" space, which is designed with a focus on comfort, we offer a selection of art books, crafts, and miscellaneous goods aimed at Shenzhen's intellectually curious customers, proposing a "lifestyle where art is close at hand."
2: "Inspiration Mode" - ISMS Special Art Project
In the large glass showcase in the center of the store, you can see a special art project coordinated by House of Inspiration (hereinafter referred to as HOI). HOI has published a series of quotes in English and Chinese from artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Daniel Arsham, Futura, and Virgil Abloh. A limited edition sculpture by contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, co-created by HOI and Archive Editions, will be exhibited and sold for a limited time as part of the opening event of the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shenzhen Zhongzhouwan store.
During the opening event, there will also be a campaign where you can receive a limited edition collaboration cup with the purchase of coffee. (The campaign period will be as announced in store. )
3: Art events and exhibitions are also held
As an opening event, we will be exhibiting and selling wedding dresses directed by photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa. Vivid flower photographs are printed all over the piece using high-definition Japanese printing technology, creating a gorgeous yet fantastical atmosphere that will add a touch of art to any wedding party scene.
In addition, in the ART area, photo prints from the exhibition "escape" held in Tokyo in February 2022 will be exhibited and sold. This series features street snapshots taken under the theme of "imaginary paradise (town)" reassembled in Polaroid format, and the images on display offer an escape into the world of Mika Ninagawa, providing a moment of relief from the stress of today's world, where dark news is common.
4: KIDS area with children's books and educational toys
In the KIDS area, a small roof-shaped bookshelf has been installed to create a playful atmosphere. In addition to children's books categorized by target age, the store also features a corner with products that can be used as gifts and educational toys that can be tried out, making it a space that parents and children can enjoy together.
After the opening, we also plan to hold events such as picture book readings.
5: Proposal of Japanese culture
Furthermore, as part of our Japanese culture offering, we have set up a section related to Japanese anime and manga, where we stock a variety of goods related to classic works from the past, manga and works that are currently popular in Japan, and illustration collections by artists.
In particular, we stock a wide range of manga in Japanese as well as translated Chinese versions, as we want people to get to know the works in a way that is as close to the original as possible.
