Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CCC) and its subsidiary Tsutaya Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. have signed a franchise agreement with Shanghai Yuanquan Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. and opened the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shanghai MOHO store, Shanghai's first TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, on Friday, January 13, 2023.

The TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shanghai MOHO store will also be in line with the concept of the commercial facility, aiming to be a space filled with lifestyle suggestions that will help Shanghai customers enjoy a better life. The store concept is "MIXTURE". This is a shop where you can select products unique to Shanghai, as well as products from Japan and around the world, based on your own sensibilities.
Going forward, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE will continue to stimulate the creativity of customers in Japan and China, offering new reading styles and exciting experiences, with the aim of becoming a special place loved by many.

Features of "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shanghai MOHO Store"

1) BOOK & CAFE, a lifestyle-focused store that combines bookstores and cafes
The store design uses blue and red bricks, reminiscent of the traditional "shikumen" architectural style seen in Shanghai since the 1860s. The open windows offer a view of Shanghai cityscape, and you can enjoy reading books and magazines in a calm space that is linked to the cityscape.

The store has approximately 35,000 books, 60,000 stationery items, and a cafe with seating for approximately 80 people. You can also enjoy a variety of drinks, including our signature lattes made with coffee or tea, while reading a book or magazine. In the "BOOK & CAFE" space, which is designed with a focus on comfort, we offer a selection of books and miscellaneous goods aimed at Shanghai's intellectually-savvy customers, proposing a "lifestyle you'll want."

2) Art books essential for art education
The art area includes areas such as photography, fashion, architecture, and design, and is characterized by an interior that resembles a small glass-walled room. You can relax and enjoy reading in an artistic atmosphere, just like you would at home.
Additionally, glass cases set up on four pillars display books recommended by TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shanghai MOHO store. By combining both internal and external art-related books, we offer a deeper artistic experience.

3) Recommended items to enrich your daily life
The store stocks a wide variety of items, with a focus on stationery and miscellaneous goods imported from Japan. For example, we have new products featuring Kakinuma Dolls' Maneki-neko, a beckoning cat that has a history of over 250 years. The TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE exclusive design is based on traditional Chinese clothing and uses the auspicious color red in China, and is filled with wishes for safety in the home and prosperity in business.
We also offer products that will make your daily life more enjoyable, such as gold leaf Daruma dolls, which are sold exclusively at TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, and "BUNZABURO," fashion accessories from a Kyoto military clothing store with a century of history.

4) Kids area for parents and children to enjoy together
The KIDS area is a space where parents and children can enjoy themselves, with children's books categorized by target age, gift items, a corner with educational toys that can be used and tried out, a KIDS space where children can read picture books, and even a corner for home education where parents are encouraged to read. After the opening, we plan to hold events such as picture book readings.
Furthermore, the "Future Architect Picture Box," available exclusively at TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, is a set of five architecture-themed picture books, stamps, stickers, a sketchbook, and more, making it a product that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

5) Proposal of Japanese culture
We will be presenting books and miscellaneous goods from various angles, such as manga culture as a contemporary culture, old and new Japanese art, and learning about Japanese culture from history.
Additionally, as part of our proposal for Japanese culture, we have set up a corner for Japanese IP products. We stock a wide range of popular Japanese manga, merchandise, and illustration collections by artists. To commemorate the opening, we will also be exhibiting and selling reproductions of manuscripts and original drawings from Eiichiro Oda's "ONE PIECE," which is popular worldwide.
