Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary, Tsutaya Taiwan Co., Ltd., opened their ninth store in Taiwan, the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Zhubei Jukai Store, a lifestyle-focused BOOK & CAFE that combines a bookstore and a cafe, on February 24, 2023, on Shengli 15th Street in the residential area of Zhubei City, Taiwan.
Zhubei City, Taiwan is the capital and largest city of Hsinchu County, also known as the "Silicon Valley of Taiwan."The residential area where the store will be located, on Shengli 15th Street, is close to the AI Science Park, a large elementary school with over 1,800 students, and the planned relocation site of the Taipei University Hsinchu Branch Campus. This makes the city truly symbolic of Hsinchu County, which is transforming into a "city of science, technology, culture, and universities."
The residential area of Shengli 15th Street is surrounded by lush greenery and is lined with large apartment buildings, many of which are home to families involved in the technology industry. Among them, "TSUTAYA BOOSTORE Zhubei Jukai Store," the first store in Taiwan to be located in an apartment complex, is a book and cafe based on the concept of "the coveted collection room."BOOK & CAFE will be located alongside WIRED CAFE, which is opening for the first time in Taiwan, and you can enjoy meals there as well.
The store will stock approximately 16,000 books and magazines, as well as a wide selection of Japanese stationery and miscellaneous goods that are popular in Taiwan. We also aim to become a hub that bridges the cultures of Japan and Taiwan, by stocking rare Japanese sake that can only be found here in Taiwan.
Features of "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Takehoku Jukai Store"
1) A cozy bookstore spread across three floors
"TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Takehoku Jukai" is spread over three floors, from the first to third floors. The first floor is centered around the WIRED CAFE, with plenty of seating where you can sit back and relax while you eat. The second floor is equipped with desk seats, making it a space where you can work or read efficiently, and spend time concentrating on reading or work. The third floor welcomes customers with a wide selection of stationery, literature, and business books.
2) Enjoy reading while dining at the first WIRED CAFE in Taiwan
WIRED CAFE, which is opening for the first time in Taiwan, is a cafe restaurant that serves brunch and light meals in a casual atmosphere. Whether you want to relax by yourself or enjoy a meal with friends or family, you can enjoy reading while enjoying a meal that suits your needs.
We especially recommend brunch dishes such as the "B.L.T. Brunch Plate," which combines the traditional Japanese principle of "one soup and three side dishes" with the concept of a Western-style brunch, as well as dishes tailored to the tastes of Taiwanese customers, such as "Mentaiko Cream Shiso Pasta" and "Mentaiko Soufflé Doria."
3) Precious sake that can only be purchased here and traditional products that highlight the craftsmanship of Japanese artisans
To celebrate the opening, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Takekita Jukai store will be selling a special label of "Suien Daiginjo Yamadanishiki," which is made with Yamadanishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture and underground water from the Northern Alps, carefully crafted by skilled master brewers and won a gold medal at the 2022 National New Sake Tasting Competition. This product can only be purchased overseas at TSUTAYA BOOSTORE Takehoku Jukai store.
We also carry a wide range of products that are popular with Taiwanese customers, including traditional crafts by Japanese artisans and TSUTAYA's original stationery brand, "HEDERA."
TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE will continue to inspire the creativity of people in Taiwan, offering new reading styles and exciting experiences, and aims to become a special place loved by many.
