Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Takahashi Yoshinori; hereinafter "CCC") and its subsidiary, Tsutaya Taiwan Co., Ltd., will open "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Lalaport Taichung," a lifestyle-focused BOOK & CAFE that combines a bookstore and cafe, on June 1, 2023, at the newly opened Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport Taichung, Taiwan's first Lalaport, in Taichung City, Taiwan.

Taichung is a vibrant city that welcomes over 45 million tourists annually. Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Taichung is located in the city center, about a six-minute walk from Taichung Station on the Taiwan Railway Line. The vast facility is made up of two buildings: the South Building, which has four above-ground floors and one basement floor, and the North Building, which has seven above-ground floors and one basement floor.
"TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Lalaport Taichung" is located on the third floor of the South Building and is based on the concept of "proposing family time," providing a space for families visiting the facility to read books, enjoy miscellaneous goods, and eat together.
The store will offer a wide selection of 20,000 books and magazines, mainly covering children's books, literature, business and lifestyle genres, as well as stationery, Japanese comic-related items and other miscellaneous goods themed around "clothing," "food," and "housing." By proposing a new lifestyle to the people of Taichung, the store will contribute to the development of local culture.

1) BOOK & CAFE: Enjoy reading while you eat
"TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Lalaport Taichung" is a "BOOK & CAFE" where you can enjoy reading while eating. WIRED CHAYA, the fifth Japanese-themed cafe in Taiwan operated by Cafe Company Ltd., offers a Japanese-themed menu with dishes such as duck ginger and green onion hotpot and black cutlet curry, where you can enjoy reading. You can also relax and enjoy a book in the store's seats while sipping on "Okonomiyaki-style Imomochi" from "Hachinotoki," a takeout specialty store with a menu of food to eat on the go, or lemon juice from "Junen Chaji," a drink brand from Kaohsiung.

2) Art and miscellaneous goods that can be enjoyed by both adults and children
We will plan book and art fairs that will stimulate our customers' intellectual curiosity. We plan to hold exhibitions of original illustrations from photo books and picture books, as well as the display and sale of art works, with a regular rotation of exhibits.
The store will also welcome Taiwanese customers with a wide selection of goods that can be enjoyed by customers of all ages, ranging from Japanese comic-related goods and educational toys to food items that will add color to your dining table and clothing that will make your life more enjoyable.

3) Providing new discoveries to local residents with Taiwanese brands
　In addition to "Junen Chaji," there are also stores of Taiwanese brands. The store will offer new discoveries to local residents, including "deya," a designer brand that offers bags made from recycled plastic, and "Kuai Shan Fang," which sells items that allow you to enjoy the scent of cypress.
