- "SHARE LOUNGE" where you can experience the "tradition and cutting edge" of art and culture, unique to Kyoto -

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Takahashi Yoshinori) and TTC LIFESTYLE Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yamashita Kazuki) will open their first Kyoto store, the SHARE LOUNGE, at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore, which will open at Kyoto Takashimaya Shopping Center in October 2023.

Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore aims to be a place where the tradition and cutting edge of art and culture resonate, offering a wide range of historically-backed traditions and cutting-edge culture.

We are pleased to announce the opening of Kyoto's first "SHARE LOUNGE" at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore. This "SHARE LOUNGE" will combine the functionality of a shared office with the comfort of a lounge, while offering a variety of unique suggestions that are unique to Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore.

Features of "Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore SHARE LOUNGE"

Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore SHARE LOUNGE, the first of its kind in Kyoto, will have approximately 120 seats, including individual seats for concentrated work, private rooms for meetings or private gatherings with multiple people, and cafe and bar seats where customers can relax between shopping or work.It is a spacious and comfortable space that customers can use however they like. From the seats by the window where natural light pours in, you can look down on Shijo Street and enjoy the Kyoto cityscape.

Surrounded by art and books, Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore SHARE LOUNGE exhibits a variety of art, allowing you to enjoy art at your leisure. The art wall will be regularly rotated to feature works by a wide range of artists, from up-and-coming young artists to well-known ones, allowing visitors to encounter new art. The large bonsai tree in the center will be rotated with the seasons, allowing visitors to experience Japan's beautiful four seasons.

In addition to art-related books, we also have a wide selection of inspirational books and rare back issues of magazines, so you can relax and enjoy some reading time.

In addition, we have a wide selection of local Kyoto food and drinks, so you can enjoy the flavors of Kyoto to your heart's content.
We will create connections between customers by holding a variety of events, including art-related events.

Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore SHARE LOUNGE is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and the store welcomes customers with multilingual signage. We aim to be a place where anyone from Japan or abroad can feel free to visit at any time, experience art and culture, and spend time freely in their own way.

What is SHARE LOUNGE?

"SHARE LOUNGE" opened in November 2019 at TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shibuya Scramble Square with the concept of "a place where ideas are born and shared."This space combines the functionality of a shared office with the comfort of a lounge, and with the COVID-19 pandemic bringing major changes to working styles, it has gained support from customers and expanded its stores both domestically and internationally, with the app having been downloaded more than 140,000 times. (As of June 2023: 22 domestic stores, 2 overseas stores, 10 affiliated stores)
