Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Takahashi Yoshinori; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") will open the "SHARE LOUNGE" on the second floor of Roppongi Tsutaya Books on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Roppongi Tsutaya Books is the successor to TSUTAYA TOKYO ROPPONGI, which opened in 2003 as a pioneer of BOOK & CAFE, and reopened as Roppongi Tsutaya Books in 2020.

Based on the concept of "Roppongi's Foreign Bookstore, a Source of Inspiration for Global Thinkers," the store has provided various sources of inspiration, including a magazine corner with a selection of magazines from around the world, books carefully selected by concierges, and events that stimulate intellectual curiosity, in order to update the people who live and work in Roppongi and become a base for generating new businesses.

With work styles becoming more diverse, customer needs for more inspiring working environments, and a renewed appreciation for the importance of interpersonal communication, we are opening the SHARE LOUNGE on the second floor of Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore, aiming to further our proposals for newer work styles and new communication spaces.

"SHARE LOUNGE" opened in November 2019 at "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shibuya Scramble Square" with the concept of "a place where ideas are born and shared."This space combines the functionality of an office with the comfort of a lounge. With the COVID-19 pandemic bringing major changes to working styles, the space has gained support from customers and expanded to include stores both domestically and internationally, with the official app now boasting over 200,000 members. (As of September 2023: 23 stores in Japan (including Roppongi) / 2 stores overseas / 11 affiliated stores)

SHARE LOUNGE, which will open on the second floor of Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore, will be 550 square meters in size. This cafe and workspace has a total of 188 seats, with various types of seating that can be used according to the situation. We have individual seats where you can concentrate on your work, as well as multi-seater seats and meeting rooms that are perfect for business meetings or as a cafe, so you can use them freely according to your needs.

The space was designed by Klein Dytham Architects, who also designed the Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore when it first opened. We offer a high-quality, comfortable space, along with art and approximately 3,000 books carefully selected by our concierge that will inspire you to create new ideas.

Additionally, sound designer Setsuya Kurotaki provided a sound installation space utilizing Sony's acoustic space generation system. You can relax listening to original background music that will help you concentrate on your work.

Furthermore, it will feature an art wall where visitors can enjoy works by various artists and an event space where a variety of events can be held, and aims to become a starting point for communication among the diverse customers who gather at Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore.
