-An open-plan book and cafe with a panoramic view of Chongqing-
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Takahashi Yoshinori) and its subsidiary, Tsutaya Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., have signed a franchise agreement with Chongqing Luhai Bookstore Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and opened the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Chongqing Impression City Store, the first TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE in Chongqing, on September 28, 2023. This store will be Tsutaya Bookstore's 10th store in China.
The TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Chongqing Impression City store is located on the 4th floor of the Chongqing Impression City commercial facility, which opened on the same day on the banks of the Jialing River, a famous river that flows through Chongqing city.
Directly connected to Hualongqiao Station on Metro Line 9, Chongqing Impression City is based on the concept of "ALL IN Chongqing" and is connected to apartments and hotels, with a diverse range of tenants including restaurants and general stores that enrich people's lives.
At TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Chongqing Impression City Store, we aim to create a space filled with lifestyle suggestions that will help Chongqing customers enjoy a better life, based on the concept of "SHARE STATION."

1) BOOK & CAFE, a lifestyle-focused store that combines bookstores and cafes
The store, which is over 1330m2 in size, has approximately 38,000 books and a cafe with approximately 80 seats. From the window, you can enjoy a view of the Jialing River and skyscrapers that symbolize Chongqing, and you can enjoy a book and cafe-style atmosphere in open seats with high ceilings. We aim to create a comfortable space where you can enjoy the night view at night and want to drop in after work or dinner.
You can also enjoy books and magazines along with a wide variety of drinks, including distinctive lattes made with coffee and tea.
In the "BOOK & CAFE" space, which is designed with a focus on comfort, we offer a selection of books and miscellaneous goods aimed at Chongqing's intellectually-savvy customers, providing an experience that is unique to TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE.
2) Suggested items to enrich your daily life
In the center of the store, we have a selection of items to enrich your daily life, including stationery goods imported from Japan, gifts for special people, handicrafts that can be used everyday, and fashion items such as bags and accessories that will add a touch of glamour just by wearing them.
To commemorate the opening of the "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Chongqing Impression City Store," Matsuhiro Shoten, a Kyoto-based wholesaler and manufacturer of metal pouches called "gamaguchi" since 1965, has produced two types of gamaguchi purses: a "camellia pattern" inspired by Chongqing's city flower, and a "rabbit pattern" inspired by the city's zodiac sign.
Matsuhiro Shoten's purse can be used to store small items and can also be used as a mini bag by attaching the shoulder strap, making it a useful item for walking around Chongqing, a city known for its many slopes. It will be sold exclusively at TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Chongqing Impression City store.
3) Kids area for parents and children to enjoy together
The KIDS area features children's books categorized by age group, as well as gift items, a corner with educational toys that can be used and tried out, a KIDS space where children can read picture books, and even a corner for home education where parents can read to their children, creating a space where parents can enjoy themselves.
After the opening, we also plan to hold events such as picture book readings.
