CCCMK Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takahashi Yoshinori) will launch the "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" (http://www.tcard.com/) in March 2021. This co-creation platform will utilize T's unique data*1 and assets to think about and take action on ethical food actions that lead to the global issue of "sustainable food," through dialogue with stakeholders with a wide range of knowledge across industries, primarily consumers, to address issues that would be difficult for a single region or company to solve alone. https://ethicalfoodlab.tsite.jp/) is currently underway.
The "T Card Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" has published the "Ethical Food Standards," which are standards created to verify whether companies and products have ethical considerations for the environment, animals, people and society, and politics. Even after its release, the Ethical Food Standards will continue to be discussed with various stakeholders, prioritizing environmental and human rights issues that need to be resolved on a global scale, and will be updated in the future in line with changes in the state of society and people's values.
Following the announcement of the "Ethical Food Standards" last year, we received many opinions and feedback. Recognizing that there was room for further consideration regarding their social effectiveness in light of the current situation in Japan, we held discussions with experts involved in the formulation of the "Ethical Food Standards." We are now pleased to announce that we have revised the "Ethical Food Standards (Large Company Version)," announced in March 2022, and the "Ethical Food Standards (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Version)," announced in September 2022. As one of the points of revision, we have decided to link with the greenhouse gas reduction "visualization" system announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries from 2024, and to include as one of the items the use of agricultural products that are subject to "visualization" in raw material procurement.
