Culture Experience Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shinichiro Kamaura; hereinafter referred to as "CX") opened "TSUTAYA Trading Card Kitasenju" on the 5th floor of Kitasenju Marui on Friday, March 15th. This is the second store following "TSUTAYA Trading Card Kinshicho" and the first store in a Marui store.
TSUTAYA began selling trading cards (hereafter referred to as "trading cards") in earnest in 2018. After the COVID-19 pandemic, trading cards are a game that allows players to enjoy face-to-face battles, and are becoming a form of content enjoyed by a wide range of customers, regardless of age or gender, not just children and other younger generations. Currently, we have trading card sales areas with competition stations in 178 stores nationwide (as of February 2024), and we plan to continue increasing the number of stores with competition stations in the future.
In addition, in December 2023, TSUTAYA's first trading card specialty store, "TSUTAYA Trading Card Kinshicho," will open as a store that will further foster community. As of February 2024, over 3,000 customers have visited our store, and it has been well received by many customers. We are opening "TSUTAYA Trading Card Kitasenju" in order to further revitalize the community through trading cards.
TSUTAYA will continue to offer opportunities for creating communities through "experiences" through a variety of items and events, including trading cards.

1. The largest community-style store in the Kitasenju area with 66 match seats
The store has one of the largest sales floor areas in Tokyo, with approximately 200 tsubo (approximately 195m²), and is equipped with 66 seats for matches, the largest in the Kitasenju area. For those who live in the Kitasenju area, those who drop in after school or work, or those who are in Kitasenju on the weekend, we offer a spacious and clean playing area where you can relax and enjoy playing with friends or even if you come alone. We also aim to be a community-type store where children living in the surrounding area can make new friends through trading cards in a safe and secure sales area.
2: Approximately 200,000 items in stock, the largest selection in the Kitasenju area
We have a stock of approximately 200,000 new and used trading cards of various types. Browse our wide selection of cards to find the cards that will strengthen your deck for your next match. There are also four search machines in the store that allow you to check the selling and buying prices of products. Of course, we also accept purchases of used cards at the counter.
3: Make new friends through tournaments and events
We plan more than 50 official tournaments and events for beginners every month. We provide a place where customers who love trading cards can communicate with each other and meet new friends through trading cards. When there are no tournaments or events being held, the match seating area is free to use for matches.
