The TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Beijing Chaoyang THE BOX store will occupy the first to third floors of THE BOX Chaoyang Light Center Building B, a commercial facility that opened on the same day near Chaoyang Gate in Chaoyang District, the city center of Beijing.

Located a three-minute walk from Dongdaqiao Station on Subway Line 6, THE BOX Chaowai Nian Lift Center is based on the concept of "culture first, consumption follows," placing emphasis on the dissemination of culture. It is lined with tenants offering cutting-edge fashion and lifestyle enrichment targeted at Beijing people in their 20s.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Beijing Chaoyang THE BOX store will also follow the concept of the commercial facility, aiming to create a space filled with lifestyle suggestions that will help Beijing customers enjoy a better life.

Features of "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Beijing Chaoyang THE BOX Store"

1) BOOK & CAFE, a lifestyle-focused store that combines bookstores and cafes

The concept of "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Beijing Chaoyang THE BOX Store" is "Culture Terminal."Climbing the open staircase surrounded by magazines that connects the cafe "Tsutaya Coffee" on the first floor to the book area on the second floor, you will find the magazine corner with the largest selection of any "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE" in China, where you can come into contact with the latest trends and cultures through magazines from all over the world.
The store has approximately 33,000 books and cafe seats for approximately 85 people. You can take your time choosing books and magazines along with coffee, tea, soda, and ice cream.
In a comfortable "BOOK & CAFE" space, we offer a selection of books, miscellaneous goods and art aimed at Beijing's intellectually-savvy customers, proposing a "place where new culture is born."

2) "SHARE LOUNGE," the first store in mainland China

Based on the concept of "a place where ideas are born and shared," SHARE LOUNGE has 28 locations in Japan and two overseas (as of April 2012), and this will be its first in mainland China.
"SHARE LOUNGE" opened in November 2019 at "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shibuya Scramble Square" with the concept of "a place where ideas are born and shared."This space combines the functionality of a shared office with the comfort of a lounge. It is a cozy, lounge-like space decorated with carefully selected furniture and equipped with a full range of amenities, including free drinks and snacks and high-speed Wi-Fi. It can be used freely as both a cafe and an office, and is also a space where a variety of workshops and talk events can be held, as a community space where people can meet.

Beijing, the capital of China, is the political, economic, and cultural center of China, and is a city that attracts a wide variety of talent to drive these activities.
We are proposing the "SHARE LOUNGE" as a new space that can be used freely as a cafe/bar or workspace for the highly information-conscious people who gather in Beijing.

We have approximately 500 books available for you to read in the "SHARE LOUNGE."
There are approximately 100 seats available, including sofa seats where you can relax between shopping trips, individual seats where you can concentrate on work, and booth seats that can be used for meetings with multiple people. Anyone can drop in and use the space for a minimum of 60 minutes.

Once open, the venue will aim to become a new cultural hub in Beijing, hosting talk events and other activities.

3) Stationery and crafts that give you a taste of Japan

We stock a wide range of items to enrich your daily life, with a focus on stationery and miscellaneous goods imported from Japan. The stationery and miscellaneous goods area on the second floor offers small animal pottery from Kosei Kiln, a pottery maker in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, as well as the Doraemon series from stationery brand Green Flash (the first to be sold outside of Japan).
Additionally, the crafts area on the third floor offers a wide selection of items, from everyday items to special gifts, including glassware from Yamada Glass, a long-established Edo Kiriko maker, and limited edition fountain pens from Sailor Pen.

4) Gallery Opening Event "Yusai" where you can feel and purchase

Gallery of

In the gallery space on the third floor, the opening exhibition "Yusai" featuring works from China and Japan will be held until July 20th.
Based on the theme of discovering the beauty of harmonious coexistence that transcends borders and fields, influencing each other and creating a better future, the exhibition will feature works such as "Distant Mountains and Dreams," a work inspired by classical Chinese poetry by Chinese rock painter Lian Yang, and a reproduction of the original "727" by Takashi Murakami, one of Japan's leading pop artists. In the future, the gallery space will host special exhibitions focusing on Chinese and Japanese artists, and will promote the cultures of both countries and serve as a bridge between them.
