(Head office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuhiro Ikebe; hereinafter referred to as "Kyushu Electric Power") to operate the Kyushu Electric Power Satsumasendai Complex "Sennooto," which opened on Monday, April 29th (national holiday).
"Sennooto" is a relaxing space filled with openness and smiles where three generations of parents and children can gather to have fun, relax, and learn. This facility aims to create a lively atmosphere in the Satsumasendai area as a place to work together to create a sustainable community, and the entire building is a "BOOK & CAFE."In addition to workspaces where high-quality learning can be pursued, there will also be a challenge shop that can be used as a place to promote products made by local residents and local people, as well as pop-up shops that offer high-quality products from the local area and around the country. With open spaces set up throughout the building, visitors can experience a variety of civic activities, and the building is full of new discoveries and opportunities.
The annex will have a kids' space themed around nurturing children's growth, as well as a plaza where residents can spend their time as they wish and serve as a place of refuge in the event of a disaster, and will aim to be a living space for residents that will add color to their daily lives.
Characteristics of "Sennooto"
(1) Open 365 days a year. This facility is open to everyone from 9am to 9pm, and anyone can spend their time here as they like.
(2) The entire building is a "BOOK & CAFE."There are approximately 110 seats and Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. You can freely enjoy approximately 10,000 books, including topics such as "Art and Business," "Travel," "Life," and "Urban Development," along with a cup of coffee anywhere in the library. There are also 40 study seats equipped with power outlets, perfect for concentrated work or reading.
(3) A wide variety of events are held every day. There are eight open spaces within the building. We will create a space where citizens can exchange lifestyle suggestions and have opportunities to interact with each other and discover new interests.
(4) We will develop challenge shops and pop-up shops as a place for citizens to communicate and discover new things.
The Challenge Shop is a place to promote products made by local residents and local people, and not only displays the products but also communicates their concepts and stories. The pop-up shop will also offer a selection of quality products from the local area and across Japan, providing new discoveries for residents.
(5) Read, play, create. We foster children's growth through three themes. The children's space in the annex has approximately 1,500 children's books available. Your child can become familiar with a wide variety of books depending on their development and interests.
In addition, a craft space called "Tsukudo Land" will work in collaboration with local businesses to help foster children's free creativity.
(6) The "Everyone's Square" is a spacious lawn that is open to the public, where citizens can spend their time as they wish. In addition to enjoying the outdoor trampoline, the park will also serve as a living room for residents, where children can run around and spend time with pets, adding color to their daily lives. The benches installed will serve as a place of support for local residents, and can be used as fireplaces in the event of a disaster.
