We are working on this.
In March 2023, Ogasawara Village formulated a new tourism promotion vision for the village, calling it "an island that has everything to make people and nature smile, both in the past and in the future." The village is promoting "Ogasawara SMILE Tourism," and is working to create a tourist destination that brings smiles to the faces of tourists who visit, residents of the village, and nature.
Overview of Ogasawara SMILE Tourism
Ogasawara Village aims to create an island that people who share the values of tourism in Ogasawara and who love Ogasawara will want to visit again and again, and has set out its tourism promotion vision, "Ogasawara SMILE Tourism," which outlines the direction for tourism promotion over the next 10 years. This vision was formulated by Ogasawara Village after extensive discussions with the Ogasawara Village Tourism Association, Ogasawara Hahajima Tourism Association, Ogasawara Whale Watching Association, and Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau, and by compiling opinions from related government agencies and various organizations that have supported Ogasawara's tourism industry and natural environment conservation.
From the beginning to the end of the trip, we aim to create a tourist destination (Tourism) that brings smiles to the faces of visitors, villagers, and nature alike (SMILE) by allowing people to spend a relaxing and healing time (Slow) and cherishing encounters with people (Meet), while also interacting with the island's rich nature and precious creatures (Ecotourism).
■Release date: Monday, April 3, 2023 *Established in March 2023
As part of its efforts to promote the new "Ogasawara SMILE Tourism," CCCMKHD has solicited ideas for a catchy slogan, original goods, and touch points that "make people and nature smile (SMILE)" through its co-education project "Ogasawara Lab," and has developed a promotional plan that expands on the ideas collected.
To coincide with the summer vacation, when opportunities for travel and outings increase across the country, starting from Thursday, August 1, 2024, TSUTAYA BOOKS and Toei Transportation will be launching a campaign called "Meguro's Big SMILE Operation! - Flip, Turn, Go Around, Let It Go Around" which will include the sale of an original picture book to help people learn about "Ogasawara SMILE Tourism" while having fun, and a mystery-solving stamp rally through transportation advertisements.

■Comment from Ogasawara Village Mayor Masaaki Shibuya
The charm of Ogasawara, a World Heritage Site, lies in its nature and people. It goes without saying that the rich nature that permeates the sea and mountains is abundant, and we villagers who live in harmony with this nature are always smiling and offer a heartfelt welcome to all who visit. A trip to Ogasawara, which takes at least six days, makes many people hesitant, but we hope that this campaign will bring you one step closer to Ogasawara, and that one day we will be able to welcome you there with a smile.
■ Co-education project "Ogasawa Lab" https://bla.bo/teams/ogasawara
Ogasawara Lab, a joint project between the Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau and CCCMKHD, aims to transform Ogasawara, a World Natural Heritage site that Japan is proud of, from a place that needs to be protected to a community where new things are born and nurtured. This is a co-education project based on the concept of "growing the island, nurturing its people, and nurturing the future" where residents, islanders, and ambassadors come together to "growing the island, nurturing its people, and nurturing the future."Blabo! () is a co-creation community site where over 27,000 people participate as planners in solving problems for businesses and government agencies. https://bla.bo/We plan to take advantage of the assets of the Culture Convenience Club (CCC) Group, which has strengths in lifestyle proposals, including the Culture Convenience Club (CCC) Group.
CCCMKHD's group mission is "UNIQUE DATA, SMALL HAPPY." We aim to create a sustainable and better society by refining unique data into valuable information and working together to solve various social issues.
Ogasawara Village aims to become an "island where people can continue to live a fulfilling life" by having each villager understand the constraints of living on an extremely remote island, and by developing the ability to be independent and support each other, forming a strong community, and by responding carefully to various environmental changes while promoting environmental improvements and industrial revitalization necessary for continued livelihood.
The Ogasawara Village Tourism Bureau is an organization established on the mainland with funding from Ogasawara Village with the aim of contributing to the promotion of tourism in Ogasawara. While focusing on collaborative activities with Ogasawara fans living all over the country, we will also be actively involved in media relations, event planning, and sales and PR activities for Ogasawara in school education settings.
