- SEVEN‐ELEVEN and V POINT collaborate to launch new initiative! -

Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd. (Head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Onishi Yukihiko; hereinafter "Sumitomo Mitsui Card"), CCC MK HOLDINGS Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter "CCCMKHD"), and SEVEN‐ELEVEN Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nagamatsu Fumihiko; hereinafter "SEVEN‐ELEVEN") will launch a service on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, that allows customers to earn and use up to 10% of their Seven Miles points at SEVEN‐ELEVEN stores nationwide, and exchange Seven Miles points for V POINT.

The V POINT you earn at SEVEN‐ELEVEN will increase in return from 7% to a maximum of 10%!

Until now, Sumitomo Mitsui Card and SEVEN‐ELEVEN have been offering a "up to 7% points return at selected convenience stores and restaurants" campaign at SEVEN‐ELEVEN. Sumitomo Mitsui Card smartphone touch payment If you use this service, you will receive up to 7% V POINT, including regular points.
Starting Tuesday, October 15, 2024, we will be upgrading the V POINT service at SEVEN‐ELEVEN. 1) Link your "7iD" on the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN App" with your "V Member Number" (set up for V POINT usage), 2) present the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN App" when paying, and 3) use Sumitomo Mitsui Card's smartphone touch payment to receive up to 10% V POINT back.

How to use the service

1. First, download the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN app"
First, download the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN app," and then set up "7iD."To set up V POINT from the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN App," please have a card that allows you to accumulate V POINT, such as a "Mobile V CARD" or "T-CARD," ready.

2. Set up "7iD" and "V POINT"
Click on the designated banner on the "SEVEN‐ELEVEN App" to go to the dedicated page and set up your "V POINT."Once set up, you can exchange 10 Seven Miles for 10 V POINT.

3. Set up "Sumitomo Mitsui Card (Vpass app)" and "V POINT"
Please set up your SMBC Group service ID and "V POINT" using the Sumitomo Mitsui Card "Vpass app."

*If you have already set it up, no action is required.

4. Set up Sumitomo Mitsui Card's "Smartphone Touch Payment"
Using the "Vpass app," register your eligible Sumitomo Mitsui Card to Apple Pay/Google Pay and set up touch payment on your smartphone.

5. Pay at a SEVEN‐ELEVEN store
If you present your membership code on the SEVEN‐ELEVEN app at a SEVEN‐ELEVEN store, you will earn 0.5% of your purchase amount in Seven Miles. Furthermore, if you pay using Sumitomo Mitsui Card's smartphone touch payment, you will earn 9.5% of your purchase amount as V POINT. By exchanging Seven Miles for V POINT at a rate of 10 miles = 10 points, you can earn up to 10% V POINT.

Point return rate for smartphone touch payments at SEVEN‐ELEVEN

Starting from Tuesday, October 15th, you can earn up to 10% back on purchases made in-store using Sumitomo Mitsui Card's smartphone touch payment.

Breakdown of up to 10% V POINT rebate

(1) By presenting your SEVEN‐ELEVEN membership code, you can exchange your Seven Miles for V POINT, earning 0.5% of the payment amount as V POINT.
(2) When you use Sumitomo Mitsui Card to make smartphone touch payments, you can earn 9.5% as V POINT.

*This includes wearable devices other than smartphones, and applies to Visa touch payments and Mastercard® contactless payments.
*Transactions other than touch payment include iD, card insertion, magnetic stripe transactions, etc.

Service Overview

V POINT earned at SEVEN‐ELEVEN can be charged to the V POINT Pay app and used at SEVEN‐ELEVEN stores at a rate of 1 point = 1 yen. They can also be used at 7.5 million stores in Japan and 100 million Visa member stores worldwide. Additionally, if you present your Mobile V CARD or T-CARD at approximately 160,000 V POINT partner stores nationwide, 1 point can be used as 1 yen.

About the product features of Sumitomo Mitsui Card (NL) and Olive

As mentioned above, starting October 15, 2024, when you use smartphone touch payment at SEVEN‐ELEVEN, you will receive up to 10% V POINT, including regular points.
For other convenience stores and restaurants, we will continue to offer V POINT up to 7% of your purchases, including regular points, as usual.
In addition, starting January 1, 2025, we will be reviewing the cashback rate for plastic card touch payments at participating convenience stores and restaurants.
