Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter "CCC") and its subsidiary, Tsutaya Taiwan Co., Ltd., will open the "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Taichung Laofo Ye Store" on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in Taichung City, the most creative and trend-setting area and the largest and most tranquil residential area in central Taiwan. In addition, this store will also feature a "SHARE LOUNGE," the first of its kind in Taichung City, which combines the functionality of an office with the comfort of a cafe.

"TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Taichung Lao Fo Ye Store" will be located in the commercial area of a building known as the first and last apartment building to be designed and supervised by the charismatic designer Karl Lagerfeld. Located in an area that is close to cultural spots such as the National Museum of Nature and Science and Ryokuen-michi, as well as many department stores and stylish cafes and restaurants, we offer a high-quality space for discerning customers.

At "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE," you can enjoy discovering books and miscellaneous goods, and at "SHARE LOUNGE," which is opening for the first time in Taichung City, there are 102 seats in a comfortable space where you can enjoy a coffee break while shopping, or work or study in an inspiring space surrounded by books.

1) Taichung City's first "SHARE LOUNGE"
"SHARE LOUNGE," a space that can be used as both a cafe and an office, will open in Taichung City for the first time. The restaurant offers a total of 102 seats, including an open space where you can relax, a space where you can concentrate on work or study, and two private rooms that can be used as a private space, allowing customers to choose freely according to their needs. Anyone can drop in for as little as 60 minutes, and you can enjoy as much food and drink as you like. We also have space for hosting events and exhibiting art. At the time of opening, we plan to hold a tea ceremony event where you can enjoy the aroma and tea, as well as an exhibition of art works by Tanabe Chikuunsai IV.

2) Original candles in collaboration with Taiwanese brands will be released and events will be held
 To celebrate the opening, we will be selling a limited edition of 100 original candles called "Shokou Pai Pai," created in collaboration with NAZO, an original Taiwanese fragrance brand that aims to blend tradition and craftsmanship using Taiwanese craft brands "Anda Kiln" and "Spring Pond Glass."It features a scent that combines lotus flower, white tea, ink, palo santo, amber, and mugwort. The melted wax can be applied to parts of the body other than the face, and the woody scent adds a nice accent. It can also be used as a solid perfume.

In addition, we will be holding a "Kangchu Manpo Tea Ceremony" event on Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st, where you can experience the original candle "Shokou Pai Pai" and the cozy interior of the store. Customers attending the event will receive a 15% discount on original merchandise.

3) A space that combines the warmth of Japanese culture with French elegance
 TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Taichung Lao Fo Ye Store is the only residential building designed by fashion maestro Karl Lagerfeld, and is located on the second floor of an impressive building with a pearlescent white diamond lattice exterior. The unique warmth and understated beauty of Japan are the foundation of the collection, harmonizing with Lagerfeld's elegant French style. The entrance hall on the first floor follows the design of the building, and uses lighting and reflections to create a bookcase-like fixture. Additionally, the second floor is designed so that after passing through a black space, a white space opens up, and as you walk through the space where the art is exhibited, you can feel the change of seasons and time.
