Money Forward ME launches new feature "Household Accounting with Points Accumulation"

- Aiming to provide a service that allows users to accumulate points through household and asset management, enabling everyone to continue managing their money in a fun way -

Money Forward Home, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yosuke Tsuji; hereinafter referred to as "Money Forward Home") will be offering a new feature in Money Forward ME from Monday, December 2, 2024, that will allow users to earn points through household and asset management*1. Accumulated points can be exchanged and used for V POINT*2 provided by CCC MK HOLDINGS Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "CCC MK HOLDINGS") and Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd. (Head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yukihiko Onishi; hereinafter referred to as "Sumitomo Mitsui Card").

*1: To use this function, you must update the Money Forward ME app to version 18.0.0 or later.
*2: For details on the V POINT service, please visit the CCC MK HOLDINGS special website and the Sumitomo Mitsui Card special website.

Money Forward Home is a joint venture between Money Forward and Sumitomo Mitsui Card. The new feature "Household Accounting Book that Earns Points" that will be launched this time was made possible through a collaboration with CCC MK HOLDINGS, which operates V POINT, by combining the strengths of Money Forward and Sumitomo Mitsui Card, both of which create new customer experiences from the customer's perspective.

About the "Household Account Book that Earn Points"

Users will be able to accumulate in-app points (hereinafter referred to as "expected points") based on their actions, such as checking their household finances and assets on Money Forward ME or linking their accounts with financial services. In addition to the five existing tabs - "Home," "Deposits and Withdrawals," "Household Accounts," "Accounts," and "Assets" - the app will now have a new sixth tab, "Points."On the "Points" tab, users can check the number of points they are expected to earn through household management and asset management*3.
The accumulated points can be exchanged for V POINT through the Money Forward ME app. 1 point to be earned = 1 V POINT, and 1 exchanged V POINT is worth 1 yen and can be used at approximately 160,000 V POINT partner stores nationwide and approximately 100 million stores worldwide that accept Visa contactless payments.

・Link your bank account, securities account, credit card, and points account you use on a daily basis
・Link 5 or more accounts
・Check monthly reports, etc.

We are also offering a "Special Chance" campaign*4, where you can earn V POINT by fulfilling certain conditions, such as applying for an "Olive" account provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card or by issuing a "Sumitomo Mitsui Card."

*3: The actions (point challenges) that earn points displayed on Money Forward ME will vary depending on the user's usage.
*4: The contents of the "Special Chance" will change depending on the time of year. Please note that V POINT earned through the "Special Chance" will be linked to your V Membership Number, whether you are a new member or have already registered.

To earn V POINT, you must apply to exchange the points you have accumulated in Money Forward ME for V POINT, and then enter the serial number sent to the email address registered with Money Forward ME on the V POINT application site. After entering the serial number, it will be reflected as V POINT within 2-3 days of application.

1. Check the number of points you have accumulated and are scheduled to receive in the "Points" tab in the Money Forward ME app.
2. Tap the "Exchange for V POINT" button > "Request Exchange" button
3. Check the serial number for earning points in the email sent to the email address registered with Money Forward ME.
4. After accessing the URL in the email, enter the serial number and complete the process.

Background of providing "Household Accounting Book with Points"

Since its launch in 2012, Money Forward ME has focused on making money visible and supporting users in managing their household finances and assets. However, when it comes to managing your household finances and assets, it is important to develop the daily habit of dealing with money, and you need an opportunity to get started. In a survey*6 of Money Forward ME users conducted in November 2024, approximately 50% of respondents had the impression that managing money was "difficult," "they didn't know the appropriate method," or "it would make them anxious about the future" before using a household accounting/asset management app, indicating that there are several psychological hurdles to managing personal money. In response to this, we wanted to create new value that would allow users to manage their household finances and assets in a positive way, and to make money management something that anyone can continue to enjoy, so we came up with the "Household Account Book that Earns Points."
Money Forward ME will continue to strive to be a customer-centric "open money platform" and will continue to create new value.
