TSUTAYA Shimabara Store, operated by Culture Experience Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichiro Kamaura; hereinafter referred to as "CX") and Elena Co., Ltd. (Head office: Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture; President and CEO: Kenji Nakamura), a member company of TSUTAYA, will have its grand opening on January 30, 2025, as the "TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Shimabara Store," a "BOOK & Café" style store with an attached cafe.

Since its opening in 2000, TSUTAYA Shimabara has been a popular destination for local residents, offering a wide range of entertainment including movies, music, books, and games. Now, as the only bookstore on the Shimabara Peninsula, we have expanded our book section and have been reborn as "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shimabara Store," aiming to become a place filled with new discoveries and experiences, a place where local residents can interact with each other in a comfortable atmosphere. We aim to be a store that will be loved by local people for a long time to come.

Key points of the renewal

1: The book section will be expanded and the store will be transformed into a bookstore with approximately 70,000 books and magazines. We stock a wide range of books, from study guides for local students, to children's books for families, to books on travel, food and other topics that will enrich your life, as well as notable new releases, to satisfy the intellectual curiosity of people of all ages.

2: We have introduced a new cafe called "BOOK & CAFE" where you can enjoy choosing a book while sipping coffee, offering a space where you can relax more than ever before.

3: We will be opening a new capsule toy sales area. You can enjoy capsule toy machines piled up like a forest.

4: We have a wide selection of stationery for everyday use, popular cosmetics, and food items to brighten up your dining table. You can enjoy it in a variety of situations, such as choosing a gift or a treat for yourself.
