-Pop-up store and novel submission contest "Novel Formula Japan GP" planned-
Yuewen Group (headquarters: Shanghai, China; hereinafter "Yuewen Group"), a subsidiary of the Tencent Group that operates one of China's largest online novel and manga platforms, Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director, President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter "CCC"), a planning company that proposes new lifestyles, and Kukan Kikan Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Taka Ryutaro; hereinafter "Kukan Kikan"), an investment and project management company, entered into a basic agreement on collaboration on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, to develop new businesses utilizing "IP (intellectual property)" such as characters and stories.
In recent years, the global expansion of IP that transcends national and linguistic boundaries has accelerated. The Enbun Group, which has an overwhelming influence with hundreds of millions of readers worldwide and is primarily involved in online novel and IP management, CCC, which is proposing a lifestyle filled with entertainment in every region of Japan, and Kukan Kikan, which has a wealth of experience in the content business between Japan and China, will combine their respective strengths to create new IP business opportunities between Japan and China.
As the first concrete initiative, a pop-up store featuring popular works from the Ebun Group will be opened at TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI in Ebisubashi, Osaka, starting this summer. Furthermore, we are holding a novel submission contest called "Novel Formula Japan GP" for Japanese authors and creators, and are considering adapting the winning works into vertical videos, manga, anime, and even media mixes such as dramas and games.
This collaboration will provide Japanese authors and creators with a new opportunity to deliver their works to a global platform, while also contributing to the revitalization of Japan's domestic IP market. We will support the creation of creative content from Japan that can be used in the global market, and open up new possibilities for the IP business.
It is a major company with hundreds of millions of readers in China, focusing on web novels and IP management. The company has produced numerous popular works through online platforms such as "QQ Reading," "QiDian Reading," and "WebNovel," and these works have been adapted into a wide range of media, including manga, anime, and films, by its affiliated IP content production companies, "Xin Li Media" and "Tencent Animation."Furthermore, the Yuewen Group enjoys enormous influence in China's entertainment industry and has created a unique content culture.
