Tsutaya Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shanghai, China; Chairman: Hashimoto Ryunosuke; hereinafter "Tsutaya Investment"), a subsidiary of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter "CCC") which operates TSUTAYA BOOKSs and TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE in China, and Artron Culture (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Artron"), which operates a wide range of art-related businesses both in China and overseas, including digital archiving of artworks, exhibition planning, and building art-related platforms, have entered into a partnership agreement in the area of spatial design through art proposals and book selection in China.
Background to the partnership agreement
The partnership agreement aims to build a strategic partnership in China by combining the strengths of each company, namely CCC and Tsutaya Investment's art-centered lifestyle proposals and spatial design, and Artron's art digital archives and platform construction, against the backdrop of the expansion of the Chinese art market, which is the second largest in the world after the United States and accounts for 18.4% of the global art market*.
CCC, Tsutaya Investment, and Artron will jointly develop the art market in China, and for Chinese clients such as developers, commercial facilities, hotels, and condominiums, their specialist staff will provide book direction that tells a story in line with concept work, target audience, and spatial design, satisfying intellectual desires and adding color to everyday life.
Furthermore, by creating an impressive space incorporating art, we will propose a lifestyle with art and promote a business centered on the art experience in China.
