- "Food Sustainability Forum 2025" explores "ethical value for consumers" -
CCC MK HOLDINGS Co., Ltd. (Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi) is working on a co-creation platform called "V Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" (https://ethicalfoodlab.tsite.jp/) launched the Food Sustainability Forum 2025 in October 2025 to examine how to communicate the appeal of ethical products in a way that resonates with consumers and leads to purchases. As the first step, a demonstration experiment was conducted at Daikanyama T-SITE from Friday, October 10th to Thursday, October 16th. As the second part of this demonstration experiment, an "Ethical Food Fair" will be held from Tuesday, November 4th to Sunday, November 9th at AEON Style Ariake Garden (Koto-ku, Tokyo), operated by AEON Retail Co., Ltd.
The Food Sustainability Forum 2024 revealed that ethical products increase purchasing desire when promoted not only for their "social value" but also for their appealing "taste and quality."With this in mind, the Food Sustainability Forum 2025 will examine the most appropriate ways to promote these products on the sales floor based on seven ethical themes: "sustainable seafood," "organic," "fair trade," "animal welfare," "plant-based food," "upcycled food," and "sustainable cocoa," and will use highly relatable messages in in-store POP displays to promote these themes.
In the second demonstration experiment, products related to seven ethical themes will be displayed at the Aeon Style Ariake Garden store, and will be sold along with messages that will resonate with consumers, in order to continue from the first experiment and verify changes in purchasing behavior.
CCC MK HOLDINGS will work with all stakeholders involved in food, including consumers, manufacturers, and distributors, to promote ethical food in society and contribute to creating a sustainable food cycle that will connect to the future through the activities of "V Everyone's Ethical Food Lab."
