Hyundai Mobility Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Toshiyuki Shichigoshiki; hereinafter referred to as "Hyundai") and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") will begin a mobility demonstration experiment (proof of concept) to promote the appeal of Karuizawa as a new initiative to solve transportation issues facing various regions in Japan.

■ Mobility solutions that complement the charm of the region

Karuizawa is one of Japan's leading tourist destinations, with a diverse range of attractions including nature, culture, art, and gourmet food, and is visited by approximately 8.5 million people from both Japan and abroad each year. On the other hand, there are challenges such as traffic congestion and a lack of transportation during peak seasons, so there is a need to meet the transportation needs of both local residents, vacation home owners, and tourists while preserving the area's charm.

■ Combining car sharing with cultural experiences

This demonstration experiment will utilize Hyundai's car sharing service "MOCEAN" and CCC's experiential local media "JAPAN 100," aiming to create a new transportation experience that will make touring Karuizawa's tourist and cultural spots more comfortable.
Two Hyundai flagship EVs, the IONIQ 5, will be installed near Karuizawa Bookstore, and users will be given a three-hour free parking coupon.

・Service start date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025

* Advance reservations are now being accepted.

"JAPAN 100" is an experiential local media that allows you to discover cultural spots all over Japan. By introducing spots carefully selected by local experts, we aim to diversify tourist traffic and revitalize the local economy. In addition, through the collaboration between "JAPAN100" and "MOCEAN," users can enjoy a more personalized and comfortable travel experience, with suggestions for spots near their current location, recommended routes by theme, and multilingual support that is easy for tourists from overseas to use.

The two companies aim to improve the travel experience and create new value by jointly planning and implementing highly effective solutions that are tailored to the local community.
This demonstration experiment is an important step towards future service development, and we are also considering medium- to long-term initiatives.

About Hyundai's car sharing service "MOCEAN"
