CCC and Starbucks launch new business model "LOUNGE & CAFE"

- Providing a new spatial experience by combining SHARE LOUNGE and Starbucks -

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter "CCC") and Starbucks Coffee Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Hisae Morii) will begin operating "LOUNGE & CAFE," a new business model that combines CCC's "SHARE LOUNGE" with Starbucks.
The first LOUNGE & CAFE store will be SHARE LOUNGE Kirarina Keio Kichijoji, which will open on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Starting with the opening of "TSUTAYA TOKYO ROPPONGI" (now Roppongi Tsutaya Books) in 2003, CCC and Starbucks have been developing BOOK & CAFE style stores that combine bookstores and cafes, allowing customers to enjoy a cup of coffee and time selecting a book. Currently, the number of stores has expanded to approximately 100, and we are patronized by many customers.
The two companies will now further evolve their partnership, which has spanned more than 20 years, and begin developing a new business model called "LOUNGE & CAFE," which combines Starbucks with CCC's "SHARE LOUNGE."

What is LOUNGE & CAFE?

The "SHARE LOUNGE" offers a comfortable lounge-like atmosphere, the suggestions of books that stimulate intellectual curiosity, and the spatial value of an office, all combined with the ultimate coffee experience through a single cup of Starbucks coffee. "LOUNGE & CAFE" was born as a place that seamlessly connects and fuses these two spaces and experiences to cater to the lifestyles and diverse occasions of our customers. Here, guests can freely choose the space and experience they want to stay in depending on their purpose and mood for the day, whether that be to read, work, or just chat over a cup of coffee.

Future developments

The first LOUNGE & CAFE store will open in Kichijoji, Tokyo in November 2025. We will consider expanding nationwide in the future.

Through LOUNGE & CAFE, CCC and Starbucks will propose new ways to spend time, while also creating excitement in the city and connections between people.
