Culture Experience Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichiro Kamaura; hereinafter referred to as "CX") and BookAce Co., Ltd. (Head office: Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture; President and CEO: Kosaku Okuno; hereinafter referred to as "BookAce"), a member company of TSUTAYA, plan to open "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Hitachiota (tentative name)" in June 2026 within a public-private partnership complex to be built on land for the Eastern Land Readjustment Project being undertaken by Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

The Hitachiota City Eastern Land Readjustment Project in Ibaraki Prefecture is a project aimed at developing commercial and business land using large blocks, improving the shopping environment, creating jobs, encouraging young people to settle in the area, and promoting sustainable urban development. Located within the public-private partnership complex that is the core of this project, "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Hitachiota (tentative name)" will not only function as a bookstore, but will also provide a space where local residents can interact, hold various events, and actively implement projects to promote the appeal of Hitachiota City, thereby providing value as a hub for local residents to interact.
