The Data Management Awards, sponsored by JDMC, recognize and honor outstanding activities by companies, organizations, and individuals engaged in data management, and are a long-established award that has been held for over 10 years. The Data Infrastructure Award will be given to initiatives that have achieved remarkable results in building a foundation for data analysis, including not only systems but also collaboration between organizations.

10-Year Non-Disruptive Modernization of Data Platform Supporting 158 Million IDs

CCC MK HOLDINGS is one of Japan's largest consumer data platform companies, providing the "V POINT" service with a cumulative total of over 158 million IDs. In 2015, the company was facing a serious problem where the performance limitations of on-premise machines were causing IT systems to become a bottleneck for business.
To overcome this situation, the company first reached agreement with the legal, compliance, and security departments and promoted company-wide cloud testing to address security and compliance concerns arising from the handling of vast amounts of personal data. While adhering to the strict condition of "not stopping operations even once for 10 years," the company achieved migration to Microsoft Azure in 2017 and completed the full migration to Snowflake in 2025. We have introduced a medallion architecture that manages data in three tiers: bronze, silver, and gold, and have established an advanced data governance system. At the same time, they utilized Databricks as an advanced data analysis environment, achieving remarkable results: data processing time was drastically reduced from 340 hours per month to 34 hours, and cloud costs were cut by one-fifth.
Based on this data foundation, employees are increasingly using AI agents, promoting AI transformation that freely draws out organizational knowledge. While protecting one of the largest customer assets in Japan, totaling 158 million IDs, and facing ever-increasing data, user numbers, and workloads, the company has continued operations without interruption for 10 years, and its efforts to balance the modernization of legacy infrastructure with advanced AI utilization based on governance are noteworthy. The Data Infrastructure Award will be presented to the company in recognition of its long-term challenges and outstanding achievements.
