—Creating a new spatial experience—a "perch" that liberates the mind and body of working people—
Hyundai Motor Company (Headquarters: 12 Heonneung-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea; Executive Chair: Euisun Chung; CEO: Jose Muñoz) and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Takanori Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") have jointly planned and developed a library space as part of a lobby renewal project at Hyundai Motor Company's headquarters office in Yangjae, South Korea (an area where high-tech industries and urban functions are concentrated), and have now completed the project.
Regarding the past collaboration between Hyundai Motor Company and CCC
Hyundai Motor Company and CCC have collaborated on numerous projects with the aim of enhancing the brand experience and improving the value of customer touchpoints.
In Japan, we have selected three main areas of collaboration: "creation of new mobility services," "data marketing collaboration to expand ZEVs," and "development and expansion of a global EV experience platform." We are now actively developing related collaboration models in each of these areas.
Furthermore, in other projects as well, CCC leverages its expertise in lifestyle proposals, including those offered by TSUTAYA BOOKS, and its editorial capabilities centered on books and content, to support the creation of "experiential value" that goes beyond mere information provision.
One of the most representative initiatives is "Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul" in Seoul, South Korea, where they developed spatial editing and curation using books and content at the brand's communication hub, creating an experiential space where visitors can connect with the brand's philosophy and worldview.

These initiatives have been praised for their spatial design, which allows visitors to encounter content based on their own interests and build new connections with the brand.
Based on this collaborative relationship between the two companies, this project expands its scope from "customer-oriented experiences" to "experiences for employees," aiming to improve communication and creativity within companies.
The spatial strategy that underpins the evolution of global company Hyundai Motor Group
As a global mobility group, Hyundai Motor Group is continuously driving transformations in its work styles and organizational culture to realize "progress for humankind."In particular, we are actively working to revitalize cross-departmental collaboration and create an environment that fosters the creativity of each and every employee.
This project focused on the lobby space (from the first basement floor to the fourth floor above ground, approximately 36,000 square meters) connecting the buildings of both "Hyundai Motor Company" and "Kia." It was promoted not merely as a facility renovation, but with the aim of realizing new ways of working that respond to the changing business environment and further improving corporate culture.
The overall concept for the lobby is "Agora" (a public square), and it has been redesigned as an open space for communication where employees and their knowledge can naturally intersect.
The library space forms the core of the "plaza".
In this renovation, CCC was responsible for concept development and curation of the library space located on the second floor, which spans approximately 512 square meters.
By combining CCC's cultural editing and spatial design capabilities, we have created a space that transcends the conventional library model, allowing Hyundai Motor Group employees to spend time engaging with diverse materials, fostering new ideas and providing a refreshing experience.
This library is based on the concept of a "perch."In South Korea, working people face their daily tasks with a strong sense of responsibility, juggling multiple roles in a highly competitive social environment. On the other hand, they are constantly in an environment where they are easily exposed to pressure.
The concept of this library is "a perch".
A space that provides a "free space" where you can relax your mind and body.
By combining CCC's cultural editing capabilities and spatial design expertise, we create a space that transcends the conventional boundaries of a library.
With this background in mind, this library aims to be a space that provides a "free respite" where people can relax their minds and bodies, either alone or with colleagues during breaks from work.
It is intended to be a kind of "perch" that temporarily relieves thoughts and tension, allows you to reset yourself, and then spreads your wings again to your respective roles.
Curation and spatial design that embody the concept of "a perch."
In this project, Hyundai Motor Company and CCC collaborated to create a space through a consistent process, starting with identifying challenges through interviews and employee surveys, then formulating the library concept and experience design, designing zoning based on themes, selecting and procuring books and objects in Korean, Japanese, and English, and finally designing the experience through commentary POPs and displays.
Furthermore, the large-format books (big books) introduced at the suggestion of CCC serve as a visual accent, bringing a sense of spaciousness and symbolism to the space.

I hope this will be an opportunity to spread the word. "
