—Proposing "sustainability in daily life" as a lifestyle—
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Takanori Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") has taken over the co-creation platform "V Minna no Ethical Food Lab" that was previously promoted by CCC MK HOLDINGS Co., Ltd. (now V POINT Marketing Co., Ltd.), and has launched "Minna no Ethical Food Lab" as a CCC business from April 2026.
"Everyone's Ethical Food Lab":https://ethical.ccc.co.jp/
"Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" is a co-creation platform that aims to deepen understanding of the significance of ethical food, which takes into account the environment, animals, and people/society, as well as the social issues behind it, and to spread sustainable food choices throughout society by naturally incorporating ethical food into daily life.
Through creating spaces such as "TSUTAYA BOOKS" and "T-SITE," CCC has been proposing lifestyles that cater to each individual's "likes" and "comfort."The "Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" project that CCC is undertaking expands its lifestyle proposals into the realm of "food," and is a project that re-examines the sustainability of daily life from the perspective of consumers, starting with "food."
Instead of simply presenting social issues as "righteous," we aim to translate them into everyday values such as "delicious," "comfortable," and "something you want to support," delivering experiences that consumers naturally empathize with and want to choose. Our goal is to create a society where ethical choices seamlessly integrate into daily life.
As the first step in this initiative, we will be collaborating with the World Wide Fund for Nature Japan (WWF Japan), Saraya Co., Ltd., and Taiyo Yushi Co., Ltd. to hold an event at Shonan T-SITE from June 17th (Wed) to June 30th (Tue), 2026, focusing on RSPO certification, an international certification system for sustainable palm oil produced with consideration for tropical forests, wildlife, and human rights.
Everyday choices can contribute to protecting forests and animals.
Today's topic is "palm oil."Palm oil is a vegetable oil extracted from oil palms cultivated in Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries, and is used in a variety of products essential to our daily lives, such as detergents, soaps, sweets, bread, and instant noodles.
While it is one of the most widely used vegetable oils in the world due to its high production efficiency, the increasing demand for it has led to various social issues, including deforestation of tropical forests, habitat loss for wild animals, child labor, and other labor problems.
In particular, the destruction of tropical forests and the impact on ecosystems for wildlife, including orangutans, are global challenges that prompt us to consider the close connection between our "convenient and prosperous lifestyle" and the "natural environment."
"Everyone's Ethical Food Lab" doesn't just present this theme as mere "awareness," but rather emphasizes that the act of choosing the detergents and soaps you use every day, or your favorite foods, is connected to the future of forests, wildlife, and people's lives. We believe that allowing people to experience such new discoveries and feelings of connection as an extension of their daily lives is the CCC way of approaching "food sustainability."
Communicating "RSPO certification" as a "better option"
RSPO certification is an international certification system for sustainably produced palm oil that takes into consideration tropical forests, wildlife, and human rights. At Shonan T-SITE, we will be offering RSPO-certified products, as well as providing POP displays and book recommendations that clearly explain environmental issues and biodiversity. Also, "With every wash, make a choice that protects forests and animals."With the theme of "[theme]", we will create a space where visitors can naturally become interested and deepen their understanding while handling the products.
CCC has previously explored how to communicate ethical products in a way that resonates with consumers and leads to purchases through its "Everyone's Ethical Food Lab."In 2022, we held an ethical food event at Daikanyama TSUTAYA BOOKS with the theme of "Chocolate (Cacao) and Coffee," and confirmed that explaining the background of environmental destruction, child labor, and fair trade increased understanding of the products and the desire to purchase them.
Furthermore, the "Food Sustainability Forum," which has been held since 2024, has shown that Japanese consumers do not choose products based solely on whether they are "socially correct." Instead, their interest in and willingness to purchase ethical products increases when they are linked to lifestyle values such as "deliciousness," "enjoyment," "quality," "peace of mind," and "empathy with the brand."
Based on this knowledge, CCC will propose new options to consumers through editing and experience design that connects "social issues" with "comfortable daily living."

Comment from Nozomi Takita, leader of "Everyone's Ethical Food Lab"
CCC is a company that creates cultural infrastructure. With the mission of "[creating a richer connection between people and society]", we have been proposing lifestyles that foster a deeper connection between people and society."
At "Everyone's Ethical Food Lab," we aim to create experiences where people can not only learn about social issues through food, but also participate in a fun way, making choices that reflect their own personal values.
The small choices we make in our daily shopping and everyday lives can lead to a richer future. CCC will continue to work with consumers, businesses, and organizations to propose sustainability solutions that people will want to continue.
About "Everyone's Ethical Food Lab (https://ethical.ccc.co.jp/)"
"Minna no Ethical Food Lab" is a co-creation platform that started in 2021.
In response to the social challenge of "sustainable food," we are working with diverse stakeholders across industries, including consumers, manufacturers, retailers, and organizations, to spread "ethical living centered on food" throughout society.
Going forward, through this initiative, CCC will propose sustainable living, starting with "food," as an everyday lifestyle, while looking ahead to the future.
Starting with our initiative at Shonan T-SITE, we will expand our activities to TSUTAYA BOOKSs and T-SITE locations nationwide, creating opportunities for consumers to naturally encounter choices that connect to the future in their daily shopping and lifestyle.
