—Transforming underutilized land into new accommodation hubs connecting local communities and travelers—

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Yasunori Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "CCC") has launched "MOBILITY LOUNGE," a reservation service for "car trips (*)" that allow people to enjoy new encounters with local communities, as part of its new car lifestyle proposals.

(*) "Car travel" refers to a new travel style that utilizes personal vehicles such as campervans and minivans to easily enjoy the journey itself and the stay in a region.

"MOBILITY LOUNGE" is a service that utilizes vacant parking lots and underutilized spaces in the area as accommodation bases, and allows users to make reservations, payments, and use the facilities through a dedicated app. We offer a unique local experience that allows you to enjoy the journey itself.

Background of the service launch

In recent years, with the changing values of consumers, there has been a growing interest in lifestyles that emphasize not only getting to a destination, but also "the journey itself" and "the quality of time spent there." The domestic campervan market continues to expand, with total sales exceeding 100 billion yen in 2023, representing approximately three times the market size over the past decade (Japan RV Association, "Annual Report 2023").

Furthermore, the number of people enjoying casual overnight stays in their own cars, not just in full-fledged campervans, is increasing, and this highly flexible style of travel utilizing vehicles is expanding as a new travel option.

Furthermore, the number of foreign visitors to Japan is projected to reach 42.68 million in 2025 (according to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) "Statistics on Foreign Visitors to Japan"), with a growing interest in long-term stays and trips that allow visitors to experience nature and local culture, particularly from Europe, North America, and Australia. On the other hand, in rural areas, creating an environment that can accommodate the diverse needs of travelers during events and other occasions remains a challenge.

Against this backdrop, CCC will leverage its expertise in proposing lifestyles that connect people and communities to propose "car trips" that create new encounters with local areas by utilizing underutilized land and vacant parking lots in the region as new bases for stays.

About "MOBILITY LOUNGE"

This is the logo for Mobility Lounge.

"More freedom in traveling to and staying in local areas."

"MOBILITY LOUNGE" is a reservation service that facilitates new encounters with local communities and enriches the time spent in those places. We propose a new car lifestyle experience that goes beyond simply providing a base for road trips, transforming new encounters with local communities and the time spent in those places into valuable travel experiences.

Our medium-term goal is to expand to 200 locations nationwide by the end of fiscal year 2027, and to build a network of 1,000 locations throughout Japan by the end of fiscal year 2030.

Through this service, CCC aims to foster a new car lifestyle culture that connects people and communities, and to promote the creation of new relationships that sustainably connect residents and communities by utilizing the resources that lie dormant in those areas.

Regarding Partner Recruitment for "MOBILITY LOUNGE"

CCC is seeking businesses, facility operators, local governments, and landowners to participate in creating new accommodation hubs that encourage people to visit local areas through "MOBILITY LOUNGE".

By utilizing parking lots, vacant lots, and local facilities during off-peak hours as new accommodation bases, we support the effective use of unused spaces and sustainable operations. This will encourage more people to visit the region and also contribute to creating new revenue opportunities.
