First TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE to Open in Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a market where lifestyles and consumer values are diversifying amid economic development and urbanization. In particular, Bangkok attracts many people from both Japan and overseas, and continues to develop as a city where commerce, business, culture, and tourism intersect.

People in Thailand are also familiar with Japanese content, such as anime, manga, and character-related content, and are also interested in Japanese products and lifestyles. Against this backdrop of continued interest in Japanese culture, we believe there are growing opportunities to bring to people in Thailand the value of TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, which CCC has cultivated around the concept of "creating opportunities to discover culture and lifestyles through books."

By opening TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE and other stores, such as Tsutaya Shoten, in major cities overseas, CCC aims to create bases that connect local people and cultures with Japan.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE will open a store in The Storeys inside One Bangkok, a large-scale complex development in central Bangkok. Opened in October 2024, One Bangkok is an urban complex development that integrates offices, hotels, residential facilities, commercial facilities, culture and art.

Comprised of multiple retail zones, One Bangkok Retail is a new urban commercial hub in Bangkok that brings together domestic and international brands, restaurants, and lifestyles.

Among them, The Storeys is positioned as an urban lifestyle area with a collection of contemporary local and international brands, concept stores, cafes, and restaurants.

Creating a New Base to Connect Japanese and Thai Cultures

To date, CCC has been working with local partners to develop TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE and other stores in Asian countries and regions, including Taiwan, China, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

With TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE as the starting point, CCC views the expansion of stores overseas as an initiative to create a base that connects Japanese and local cultures and people, rather than simply expanding the number of stores opened.

In Thailand, in partnership with Asia Books, CCC will create a new place where the charms of Japan and Thailand intersect while respecting local cultures and lifestyles.

Details of the store's services, content, and space design will be announced when the store opens in October 2026.
