- Sharing everyone's "recommended" works online and in real life -
The "Niconico Live Broadcasting" streaming system of "niconico," one of Japan's largest video services operated by both Dwango Co., Ltd. and Niwango Co., Ltd., will be installed at TSUTAYA's flagship stores in Tokyo and Osaka (SHIBUYA TSUTAYA and TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI), operated by the Entertainment Business Division of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, 26th, and Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, 2nd. The live broadcast program "Let's Ask Everyone for Their Recommendations: Nani Miyo-kun" will be aired, allowing in-store customers to ask online viewers for recommendations.
■ Real-time recommendation broadcasting by online viewers at TSUTAYA in Shibuya and Namba
In this program, online viewers will use the NicoNico Live Broadcasting function installed in TSUTAYA stores to recommend titles to customers in the store who don't know what to rent. This means that even customers who visit a TSUTAYA store but are unsure which title to choose will be able to interact with online viewers in real time and find titles that better suit their tastes.
Niconico has previously held regular live broadcast events such as Niconico Shrine, but this will be the first time that they will collaborate with a physical store to hold a permanent live broadcast.
TSUTAYA has been working to create opportunities for customers to discover their favorite movies from the vast selection of films available, through in-store corner planning, movie suggestions by concierges, and the "Have you seen this!?" app, which allows users to share movies with friends via Facebook.
This time, "Nani Miyo-kun" takes advantage of the unique features of "Niconico Live Broadcasting" and is a system for proposing works that is a reversal of the traditional idea that has not been seen in stores, where the main speakers are not "people who know the works" but "people who want to know about the works."
