- The TSUTAYA Mikatahara store, which opened in 1987, has been completely renovated and reopened -

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Takahashi Yoshinori) and Marutomi Co., Ltd. (Head office: Mikataharacho, Kita-ku, Hamamatsu City; President and CEO: Oishi Etsuyo), a member company of TSUTAYA, will renovate the TSUTAYA Mikatahara store, which opened in 1987, and open TSUTAYA Conditioning, the first store in the Tokai area, on July 1st.

■What is TSUTAYA Conditioning?
"TSUTAYA Conditioning" is a lifestyle gym proposed by TSUTAYA based on the concept of "balancing the mind and body."The space is filled with books on wellness as well as travel and interior design that will add color to your daily life. In addition to the latest exercise equipment and yoga programs that even beginners can easily continue, we also offer events and other activities that will enrich your quality of life through exercise, food, beauty, and knowledge. The first TSUTAYA Conditioning store opened in Sakurashinmachi, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo in 2017, and the TSUTAYA Conditioning Mikatahara store is the fourth store, following stores in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture and Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and the first store in the Tokai area.

Six points about TSUTAYA Conditioning Mikatahara store

1. You can spend some time alone in a comfortable space surrounded by books.

As a bookstore, we are creating a space surrounded by books that is unique to TSUTAYA. The approximately 300 books carefully selected by the concierge at Daikanyama T-Site are available for you to read freely, not only in between workouts but also while exercising. We offer new discoveries and encounters through books. We plan to recommend around 20 to 30 new books each month.

2: More than 100 yoga lessons held per month

We hold over 100 yoga lessons per month in our studio, including original yoga classes. There are no mirrors in the studio, so you can focus on yourself during the lesson. You can also participate online, so you can easily join from home without worrying about being seen by others.

3. Host an event with the theme "Balancing the Mind and Body" (non-members are also welcome to participate)

We hold events every month and have programs that even non-members can participate in. Communication is born between people who have gathered with the purpose of "getting organized."

4. Equipped with the latest AI machines that allow you to complete a full-body workout in 15 minutes

We are fully equipped with the latest AI machines that automatically adjust to suit your physique. By exercising on six machines for two sets of seven and a half minutes per lap, in a game-like manner, you can get a fun, effortless full-body workout. All you have to do is follow the correct movements displayed on the monitor, so it's easy to use and even beginners can use it with confidence.

5. "Tanita Cafe" serving healthy coffee and food

Tanita Coffee, which you can enjoy while taking a break from exercise or reading, will be sold at a members-only price of 100 yen per cup. Tanita Coffee contains twice as much chlorogenic acid, a type of coffee polyphenol, as regular coffee. It has a high-quality taste that combines a rounded acidity and sweetness. In addition, Tanita Cafe's original frozen menu items are sold in vending machines. The two types of pasta and curry are made with plenty of vegetables and are cooked to leave a chewy texture, making it easy to feel full. We also offer three other types of soup containing glutinous barley.

*Tanita Cafe is a new style concept cafe developed by Tanita, a comprehensive health company, that incorporates a wealth of elements that contribute to mental health, such as fun and comfort.

6. You can use special amenities

We are committed to being gentle on hair and skin, and are equipped with ReFa shower heads and hair dryers, as well as our original natural amenities, which you can try out at your leisure.
