TSUTAYA Takikawa store, operated by Culture Experience Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichiro Kamaura; hereinafter referred to as "CX") and Hokusei Co., Ltd. (Head office: Takikawa City, Hokkaido), a member company of TSUTAYA, will be undergoing a renovation and reopening on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Since its opening in 1998, TSUTAYA Takikawa has been a popular destination for local residents, offering a wide range of entertainment including movies, music, books, and games. Now, it will be reborn as "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Takikawa," aiming to be a place where people can enjoy a comfortable stay, be filled with new discoveries and experiences, and foster interaction with the local community.
Key points of the renewal
1: The first "BOOK & CAFE" style store in the Sorachi region. You can enjoy your time choosing a book while enjoying a Starbucks coffee. (Starbucks is scheduled to open on June 30th)
2: The large windows create an open space where you can enjoy a free and comfortable time alone or with family or friends.
3: To allow customers to enjoy books and coffee, we will place the latest popular books, books that will brighten up daily life, and books related to coffee near the entrance cafe, providing local residents with more opportunities than ever before to come into contact with books.
TSUTAYA is expanding its "new-generation experiential bookstores that foster interaction in local communities" across the country. We will continue to aim to provide local residents with new experiences through our bookstore and to create a local community.
