Kadoma City Cultural Creation Library KADOMADO Opens

KADOMADO is a multi-purpose facility centered around a library, designed to promote cultural and learning activities for citizens and revitalize the local community. Based on the concept of "a place to nurture the community and its people," this facility is open 359 days a year (*) from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The five-story building (including the rooftop terrace) houses a library, a relaxing café, a challenge shop where local brands and companies can set up stalls, a cultural center with rental rooms to serve as a hub for local community activities, a tech lab where visitors can experience the latest STEAM education, and a craft lab where they can participate in hands-on manufacturing experiences in collaboration with local businesses. KADOMADO aims to be a place where people can see a new future for Kadoma City, gain new knowledge while experiencing Kadoma City's culture, and become a hub for local community activities.

(*The museum will be closed during the New Year's holiday period (December 29th to January 3rd).)

Features of Kadoma City Cultural Creation Library KADOMADO

(1) A library where the atmosphere changes from floor to floor, and a Starbucks where you can spend your time as you please.
The spacious building, characterized by its open atrium, houses a library with approximately 200,000 books, with each genre spread across a different floor. At the Starbucks on the first floor, you can immerse yourself in reading with a cup of coffee in hand, or enjoy conversations with family and friends. In a space where knowledge and relaxation naturally intertwine, you can spend "a little bit of special time" in your everyday life.

(2) Cultural center equipped with various functions
As a cultural center where local residents play the leading role, it has multiple functions. The "Open Kitchen," which connects local food and people, is planning to host cooking workshops and food education events. At the "atelier," children and adults alike can freely engage in creative activities and experience the joy of making things, such as painting, crafts, and design. We have two "multipurpose rooms" that can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as community activities and local meetings, providing a space for interaction and discussion. Furthermore, the "Small Hall" will be used as a hub for promoting local culture through events such as lectures, film screenings, workshops, and mini-concerts.
We will also be setting up pop-up spaces where local brands, creators, and companies can set up temporary shops. We will continue to plan and implement new projects as a "showcase for the city" where new encounters and discoveries can be born.

(3) Cutting-edge technology education to broaden children's futures
"Tech Lab" is a learning space where children can experience new forms of learning while interacting with the latest technology equipment, and where everyone can naturally express their "likes" and "interests."Our aim is to create a safe and secure learning environment where children can discover, deepen, and share their own interests and passions.

(4) Kids' floor to foster children's creativity
On the 4th floor, the kids' floor, a symbolic "mountain of picture books" welcomes children. This "mountain of picture books," which can be used as both a bookshelf and a chair, is a special reading space for children. Deep within the "mountain of picture books" lies a secret little room, a secluded space that offers children an exciting reading experience.
Furthermore, at the "Craft Lab," where you can immerse yourself in crafting, you can participate in hands-on crafting experiences using various materials such as wood, fabric, and paper, in collaboration with local businesses. In addition, the facility includes a "Mogumogu Space," a dining area where you can bring in baby food and other items, and a "Kids Terrace" where children can play and get some exercise.
